Drinking quite youthful and approachable, though its still a touch lean contrary to many 2015s. Nice mineral and citrus complexity. Upside as this gains a little more flesh.

More reductive than what I thought was common for Moreau, but no reduction monster. There’s a flinty smoke note on the nose along with violet and peach, the palate has this luxurious texture, mineral and floral intensity. White flowers grey pear, lemon. The acidity could be higher yes but it still is fresh while intense, fantastic.

Drinking exceptionally well. Fully open for business. I do not have great experience waiting on white Burgundy so it may be open season for me on these. Just gorgeous Chassagne.

Tasting at Domaine Bernard Moreau (Chassagne-Montrachet): Blind. Showing some reduction and therefore a bit tight aromatically. The palate has rich plump fruit with nice brightness and clarity. A family resemblance to the 2018 tank samples. 91-92+

Burgundy, Day 4 (Beaune, France): Served double blind. The reduction on the nose made this harder to discern vintage, but overall I thought this had to be something from a more linear and mineral site, as it was quite bright and taut. We had all started guessing cooler, more classic vintages like 2014 and 2017, so we were pleasantly surprised at how well the 2015s were showing.

Light touch of pineapple and coconut notes, lovely balance of richness and acid. Very easy to drink and enjoy. No trace of the bite that I tasted a year and a half ago. Like this one.

Rich and powerful but maintains good precision without clumsiness where other 2015 fail. Still a little rough around the edges but shows good promise for a few years of evolution. Not exceptional in either wow factor or QPR but quite good solid bottle of 1er cru CM.

Domaine Bernard Moreau Cellar Visit and Tasting (Chassagne-Montrachet): Tasting at the domaine. Also nicely floral withe more ripeness vs Vergers or Chenevottes. This is very dense and powerful and clearly keeps its balance, but is not quite as elegant as the previous couple tasted. I look forward to seeing if the fat softens with a few years in the cellar. 89-91 point potential.

M+ intensity - Floral, smoky nose
M+ acidity with some minerality and white fruits
Long finish but needed time and will benefit from further aging.

La Paulée de San Francisco - Grand Tasting (The Fairmont - San Francisco CA): Tasting, brief note. Rich and ripe fruit with very good density for 1er Cru. Less nuance or textural elegance vs the Vergers. Good+ length.

Some Wines from the 2018 La Paulée Grand Tasting of 2015 Burgundy (The Fairmont, San Francisco): Lovely fragrance of citrus. Carressing feel with significant wood. Rich but not enough acidity to keep the finish from feeling dull.

Nice honeyed fruit there. Bit of a bite that I'd hope would mellow with time. Nice, but for this price, I prefer the 15' Morgeot

Musique & Vin (Mostly) Meursault Wine Tasting (Château de Meursault): Tasting, brief note. Nicely floral but with lots of rich fruit. Good weight and depth. Good balance enables to remain elegant despite its heft.
