The snobs among us may describe this as “quaffable.” Delicious with just enough complexity to be interesting, and a great value at ~$30. Pale ruby and almost pink in color. The nose is ripe, tangy and red with cranberries, raspberries, red currant and a slightly candied aroma. There’s a slightly green herbal note with rosemary and thyme. The palate has a sweet + sour + spice thing going on with the same red fruits from the nose accentuated by a perfumed citrus note of orange, orange blossom, and orange zest.

Fresh cherries, white flowers and rose for days on the nose. The palate adds red raspberry, spice, a medium body with medium acid and tannins. Immediately makes me think Willamette, OR. Balanced, well made, drinking well now but this will last a while.

Coravin pour. Clear and clean ruby color. While still not a big wine, this has put on some weight since the last time I tasted it. Cherry, savory spice, some mouth-watering acidity, forest floor. This is full of flavor while remaining delicate.

Pop and pour. Tasted over three days with half the bottle saved in a 375ml bottle. Light tuby color. Nice red berry nose with a hint of leather and clove spice. Bright red cherry flavor, with a touch of sweetness. Good acidity. Enjoyable.

This is what I expect from Willamette Valley Pinot Noir. The earth, spice, and sun dried berry fruit, combined with palate quenching acidity. Terrific food wine.

Transparent ruby color. The nose is expressive, red fruits and spice. On the palate, soft textures surrounds the cranberry and cherry. Medium to light acidity. Pair with lighter foods.

Willamette Valley Trip - June 2018; 6/8/2018-6/11/2018: From Ribbon Ridge, this had a beautiful light ruby color and was tons of velvet textured, soft red fruit on the nose and palate. The most delicate wine I tasted on this trip.

Tasted a copious amount of Willamette Valley wines over the past two weekends, and the Franny Beck wines could go toe to toe with any and all of the much higher priced wines. This was my favorite of all of the wines made with Armstrong fruit.

Opened a bottle last night with chicken marsala. It was super tight on the opening and needed lots of air. After a two hour decant it really developed into a beautiful wine. This was my second time tasting their Armstrong offering, and I recalled it being the most approachable of the new single vineyard offerings - however, on its own it is still young & tannic and needs at least 3 years of rest to further integrate. It paired very well with the meal and our guests loved the wine! I'm planning to buy more and save them.
The clear winner of the night. Tasted the line up blind tonight and the Armstrong was the favorite for 3/4 of us. I loved this wine. The fruit was beautiful along with the nose. There was plenty of acid and structure to carry the finish for a long while. Will be buying more of these.

Tasted at a private tasting with the entire 2015 horizontal. Just recently bottled so all of the Franny Beck Wines were a little tight. I thought the Armstrong Vineyard was the most approachable of the lineup. Still has room to improve with some bottle age. These new single vineyard offerings are very exciting!

some reduction, and some oak - but the acidity and overall balance keeps this in check. A bigger wine, with some time ahead of it.

I smelled cherries when we opened it, it was delicious but feeling a little thin. Developed much lushness over the next couple of hours.
