Decanted for 1 hour. Dark ruby in color. On the nose I got Cherry some earthy tones and strawberry. On the palate I got the same. The flavors just rolled across the tonge. Really enjoyed the acidity, soft tannins. Really improved with time in the cellar.

This is delicious! C: Dark ruby. N: Pomegranate, cherry, earth, meat juice. P: More of the same, with a pronounced savory component and just enogh tannins to support the CdP like fruit profile. F: Medium+, with more of the pomegranate and sour cherry. Fantastic food wine and drinks like a $45 CdP. 91+

Much better than last time, a couple of years ago. Very spicy, lots of fresh pomegranates and cherries, good acid, and a medium finish. Excellent for under $20.

This wine benefitted from a couple of hours of breathing. Strawberry, cranberry and earthy on the nose. Smooth and front-loaded with more cranberry and raspberry notes. Medium to high acidity - nice finish.
I don't find this to be a "pretty wine". I find it to be a very genuine wine - the sort of wine to enjoy with your friends any day of the week with flavorful roasts, lamb or chicken.
QPR is very good.

Delicious afternoon wine. The strawberries were the strongest flavour and aroma, but the stems and earth made a strong showing as well. Excellent, and would happily buy again.

My high esteem for The Princess and The Peasant is sustained by bottlings like this.
Night #1: PnP, the nose was initially reserved, as were the first few sips. Over twenty minutes, dark berries, tinged with bramble and sage, and a tug-of-war between the acidity and tannins promised better things in store. The bottle was re-corked and left on the counter for the evening.
Night #2: The nose became an explosive mix of dark berries and plum. The palate yielded a fascinating combination of brambly red and black field berries, violets. The wine presented a pleasing medium-length finish. The tannins and acidity, not in any way overwhelming, instead contributed to the structure to a beautiful wine. I kept returning to the glass, picking up faint impressions of strawberries and earth, as well as a Pinot Noir-like sensibility in this old-vine Carignan.
The Princess and The Peasant's inaugural "Poor Ranch" bottling continues to deliver a balance of fruit and savor - a well-crafted wine for the price, guaranteed to please a broad range of wine drinkers.
A Berserker Day buy. Light purple in color. On the nose I got red berries and some cherry. On the palate I got Blueberries and some red berries after it opened up a little more. Very slight tannins and medium acidity.

Light magenta. Cherry and spice nose. Light to medium bodied, tart raspberries, very soft tannins, bright acid, and sweet jammy finish. Simple with loads of up-front fruit.

I get plum and dark fruit on the nose. Big explosion of fruit (blueberry, pomm, plum, raspberry) and some great balancing acid in my mouth. Tart finish with some subtle tannin. This is a vibrant and fun wine. Glad I have some more left. Will buy again. Great QPR. Berserker day find

Damn that's a tasty bottle! Big bright red fruit, not a lot of tannin, but with lots of structure from the acidity. The bottle vanished awfully quickly, and I can see why people load up on this particular bottle. Definitely in for more next time around.

Acquired this in a mixed case from the BerserkerDay 2017 event this year. Such a refreshingly unique and unctuous wine. The medium alcohol level was a welcome change from the full throttle wines of late we've drank and the acidity was lip smacking good. Apparently a textbook Carignan: Succulent red fruits being mainly red pomegranate and hint of raspberry punctuated by spicy characteristics of baking spice and licorice with a touch of that meaty umami without being gamey. An honest wine at an even more honest price point.

Pours a vivid magenta. Nose is dominated by white pepper and spice. On the palate, loads of berries -- blackberry, blueberry and strawberry -- and spice. Good concentration and lip-smacking acidity. There's enough material that this should last through a decade from vintage. Really nice.

Delicious. Great Berserker day find. Lots of fruit (blueberry and black cherry) with a spicy acid finish. Will drink 2 of these rather quickly but will cellar one to see if it changes.

If you would combine a Cinsault, Pinot and a Zin, this is what you'd get. Elegant, spicy, good acidity leading to a juicy wine. Nice earthy element as well. Open and ready to go now. Drink.

Juicy red and black fruit, needs a bit of air to bring out the blackberry/strawberry flavors, really nice acid makes for a nice food wine. Really nice depth to this wine too. New producer to me and am pretty excited to get some more bottles to lay down.

In a great place. Rich with black cherry, spices, good minerality, medium + finish. With only 1 left, it’s clear I should have bought more.
