Off the list at Le Tout Paris. 5+ years since my first taste of this wine at which point it was reductive and brooding. The wine is now more open and approachable, though still not ready, showing quite ripe and rich with overt smoke notes and a just a trace of Vosne spice. Not sure if this will ever be a classic Vosne village given the vintage characteristics and early tenure of the winemaker at this junction. Will hold for 3-5+ years before trying again.

Decent on the palate (m+ acidity, finely grained tannins, red fruits dominate) but the nose is difficult and tending towards smoke, tobacco, cooked / dried fruit. 86 = lower echelons of very good on the basis of the palate. Drink or hold.

Having a first taste of this since EP, when it was quite a stunner, to see how it’s getting on, plenty of raspberry and crushed strawberry, a little fresh earth, silky texture, nice acidity for the warmer vintage, very seductive and giving but should develop further from here. Starting to show the promise of its early showing, i suspect these wines have been pretty drinkable the whole time, the challenge will be keeping some to see how it develops

The wine is Light and elegant. Not showing the structure / heaviness of the vintage. Open for business. Lovely aromatics and fragrant profile on the nose. Rose petals the dominant flavour profile. Complemented by tart raspberry. Red fruits. Silky and fine tannins. A lovely village vosne.

I’ve been a little reluctant to try 2015s given the reputation of being big and robust given the heat.. I naturally feel more at home with 2014, 2016 and 2017 as more ‘Pinot’ than 2015 and 2018... but perhaps this is wildly misplaced. The wine is Light and elegant. Open for business. Rose petals the dominant flavour profile. Dark red fruits. Silky and fine tannins. Held up well on day 2.

Coravin in July and the rest Yesterday. Dark color and heavy notes in the nose. Reduction. Some Vosne spice but not much. Could perhaps need some years in bottle.

As others have noted, there is an odd, slightly off putting, note on the nose. This dissipated with air, but never fully disappeared. Aside from that this is lovely. Delicious with silky texture. On the palate, this is pretty open right out of the gate, but I’ll give my other bottle a few years in hopes that the nose works itself out.

2015 Vosne-Romanée Village Blind Tasting (Chicago, IL): Single blind. Heavy reduction in the nose, with rich black fruit in the background that starts to get red fruited and spicy with swirling. Serious concentration of red fruit with richness and depth beyond a Village wine. Brooding and non-delineated with flashes of spice and layering with swirling. Upside from here in 5-10+ years.

2015 Vosne-Romanée AC blind (Chicago, IL): Served single blind in a flight of 2015 Vosne-Romanée AC. Not the most appealing nose, with some reduced burnt rubber and oddly enough, some orange peel. Behind that are some pleasant light red fruit notes, with a touch of strawberry. The palate ends with some bitterness. On the palate, this seemed to be a little weaker and not as filled out as many of the other wines.

Better showing than the bottle I had in 2018. Solid, though still didn’t wow me. Fruit is mostly red, though has some darker notes too.
