This was way too young; the nose was pretty closed and took lots of swirling to get anything; there was some red berries and floral notes with more air; the palate is also pretty tight, not showing the classic ripe fruit and "charm" of this vineyard; that said the potential is definitely there for an excellent wine, just needs 5 years in the cellar to unwind a bit.

I don't know if you're supposed to like en primeur wines as much as I do. Tight and tannic because it's supposed to be and needs time. I could drink it all now though
La Paulée de New York - The Verticals (Eventi Hotel - New York NY): Walk around tasting, in 16/15/13 vertical. Similar aromas and flavors to the 2016, just denser, richer and clearly riper. While I prefer the 2016 now, both will be better in another 5 or 10 years, and I do not know which will be superior. 90-91 point potential.

This is is our first Hudelot-Baillet. It starts off as a young, oaky Bordeaux, but the transformation with air is extraordinary. In the end it is a deliciously full and deep Chambolle on the dark side of the fruit spectrum. Glad we have a 6-pack. Well five now... 92+

Burghound got this one right, gorgeous wine with super focus, and such Chambolle lift! Rich, dark-fruited for a Chambolle, liquer and candy notes with wonderful length. Like so many 15's, this is a treat to drink now, but of course will be in it's prime in another decade. Very highly recommended.

The Verticals Tasting at 2020 La Paulée de New York (Eventi Hotel, New York): Much riper, sappy, and concentrated than the 2016, if unusually large scaled for the appellation. That said, I loved the depth of fruit and found it superb.
