Reaching end of life. Lots of alcohol on open. Open 2 hours before prime rib dinner. Alcohol somewhat blows off but still there. Blue fruit and black currant with a long finish with undercurrent of alcohol. Drink up.

Washington State Wines - Friday Steak Night (Bobby Van's Park Ave): Deep ruby in color. Cherry, red currant, anise, and a bit of baking spice. Dry, full bodied, medium acidity, medium tannin, medium alcohol. Brief finish. This felt like the most fruit forward bottling of the line up. It can use a bit more grip and more extract. Still, it is quite enjoyable.

The experience of wine that is alive. Open hour before dinner and the attack is tart. Immediately decant. Red fruit emerges with a balanced palette with the slightest bitter moving to the finish. Finally becoming fully integrated after 2-3 hours.

Still very vibrant with acidity and structure (especially for WA). Red fruit, cassis, sweet juice medium finish. Drinking at peak imho but could last several more years easily. Paired great with Wagyu ribeyes!

I had this with my wine group at a NYC steakhouse. This wine continues to punch above its weight class and always represents a great QPR value. It outshone wines 2 and 3 times it's price. It is always a group favorite.

Sweet red fruit, cherry kirsch, with some spicy acid on finish. Not overly complex but very enjoyable with chili con Carne and cornbread after a day on Colorado slopes. Medium long finish

One of the best put-together Soos that I've had [around 20 bottles]; great QPR to boot. Structured yet sweet/juicy, a rare combo indeed for a serious cab.

Part of a Soos Creek night with my wine group at a NYC Steakhouse. Opened, but not decanted, at least 30 minutes before serving. A bit more fruit forward than the Champoux and Ciel du Cheval bottlings. It also has the highest % of Cabernet Sauvignon. Also, a little more full bodied than the other wines, but less complex. We all enjoyed this wine.

Somewhat off-putting sweetness to the cherry fruit that sits to the fore, but to my palate the wine is in part redeemed by smokey hot rocks and spice that anchor the mid palate and finish. Much sweeter fruit than I like, it paired decently with grilled tri tip but was too much on its own

Plum, licorice, spices, blackberries with a touch of saline and minerals. Medium to full bodied , balanced, fruity with chewy tannins and long finish. Fantastic Cab at this price point.

Captivating aromas of creme de cassis, blueberry compote and black cherry. The palate echoes the fruitiness of the nose but layers on subtle notes of herb and vanilla. There's a melding of flavors that happens, like it does with high quality wines, to form an integrated profile that's greater than the sum of its parts. Vibrant acidity provides lift and chewy tannins emerge towards the back. The long finish pulls you back for another sip.

Soos Creek is always a hit with my wine group, and the 2014 Terrible Beauty has always shown well. Last night, with Pizza, it continued its solid showings.
I had this with my wine group at a NYC pizza place. Unfortunately, we finished the pizza before we could get to this bottle. So we drank it without food. Everyone enjoyed it. I think it would have went well with the pizza, but I'll have to wait until my next bottle to know for sure.

Popped 'n poured at an Italian restaurant. I think this winery always over delivers. But tonight, the Soos Creek Palisades was preferred over this one.

This wine is terrific. Lively acidity, bright red plum, black cherry and baker’s chocolate. Solid flavors holding across the somewhat lengthy finish. A tremendous bargain, beautiful wine.

Popped and poured. Beautiful nose of cherry, licorice and Asian spice. Surprisingly smooth on the palate, with beautiful red fruits and spice. Enjoyed so much that I placed an order for more. Well made wine!

Popped 'n poured at a Turkish restaurant with my wine group. 1 of 5 wines for 8 people. Probably the 2nd favorite of the night. I'm so sad to hear this is the last vintage for "Terrible Beauty", it almost pains me to have opened one so young. But it was very tasty, if a little more acidic than most Cabernet Sauvignons. Nice nose, medium dark color, medium-short length finish. A bargain for the price.

Deep with blackberry and currant fruit. Impressive, perfumed nose carries over to a full bodied, but never heavy palate. Finishes with an earthy note.

Very good on a pop and pour, which is not typical for Young Soos Creek wines. Beautiful fruit and spice. Smooth as silk. No need to wait on this one.
