What a fun bottle. Definitely at the end of the drinking window. Rich gold color and viscous with strong nutty caramel flavors surrounded by dried apricot, orange marmalade and mango fruit flavors with just enough acidity left to keep it all together. Drank with steamed lobster, garlic butter and lemon with a side of roasted brussels with bacon and parm - decadent match!

Beautiful and fully mature bottle of Sonoma chard that has lasted in much better condition then most White Burgundies from that age and at a fraction of the price. Golden layered with tropical fruit and nutty elements and a little butterscotch hints but with plenty nice acidity to round it off and give it a satisfying finish. Great with some king salmon on the grill, I would recommend pairing it with rich seafood or a fairly fat fish. it may be a bit beyond peak so i'm probably being a bit harsh on the score but if you like mature Chard you will not be disappointed. Drink now

Similar to prior notes. Once again, needs some air to soften oak. That said, excellent fruit depth. A big chardonnay, but overly buttered / mouth-puckering, for which I'm thankful.

Impromptu Wine Gathering (Lake Elmo): Decanted this, and it really helped soften the oak and butter. This drank a lot like the '96 Verget Bougros from a few nights ago, though I don't think it's got the structure to last as long.

Hanging out at Jim's house: Nose: Ripe lemon with smoke and toasty oak in abundance. Palate: Lemon with vanilla and a lengthy finish. Good example of a full throttle new world Chard that stops just short of being over the top. Nice effort.

Probably a touch more oak and butter than is my preferred style, but a very nicely made wine nevertheless. Rich oak and fruit on the nose, with a hint of a little bit of pineapple upside/down cake sweetness. On the palate, still shows good acidity with good fruit depth. Slightly oxidized, but about what one would expect at this age. For my tastes, this should be consumed in the next 2 years.

Wow. Opened the night before and had a lot of burnt nose. Nothing to be afraid of it just needed to blossom. Drank the rest of the bottle the next day. Electric color of sweet butterscotch. This was a keeper. Quickly bought two more bottles on line as my wife loved it.

Lost in the back of the cellar for a decade, the cork was not in good shape. Drinkable, but a decade past its peak.

Gold color and very rich. Very smooth closer to room temperature. Mild oak adds spice to a wine that coats your mouth.
