What a fun bottle. Definitely at the end of the drinking window. Rich gold color and viscous with strong nutty caramel flavors surrounded by dried apricot, orange marmalade and mango fruit flavors with just enough acidity left to keep it all together. Drank with steamed lobster, garlic butter and lemon with a side of roasted brussels with bacon and parm - decadent match!

Beautiful and fully mature bottle of Sonoma chard that has lasted in much better condition then most White Burgundies from that age and at a fraction of the price. Golden layered with tropical fruit and nutty elements and a little butterscotch hints but with plenty nice acidity to round it off and give it a satisfying finish. Great with some king salmon on the grill, I would recommend pairing it with rich seafood or a fairly fat fish. it may be a bit beyond peak so i'm probably being a bit harsh on the score but if you like mature Chard you will not be disappointed. Drink now

Similar to prior notes. Once again, needs some air to soften oak. That said, excellent fruit depth. A big chardonnay, but overly buttered / mouth-puckering, for which I'm thankful.

(Walter Hansel Winery Chardonnay The North Slope Vineyard) Medium gold color; mature, baked apple, baked pear nose that changes, after 20 minutes, to add lemon notes; silky textured, medium bodied, rich, lemon palate with tangy, medium acidity; medium-plus finish 92+ points

Lost in the back of the cellar for a decade, the cork was not in good shape. Drinkable, but a decade past its peak.
