  • It was aromatic with red fruit, perfume and blood orange. Natural-wine typical like of palate with light pure red and orange fruit. Enjoyable.

  • Muddy, ultra light red color. Incredibly perfumed nose of flowers, cranberry fruit, earth. Quite funky, almost dirty (in a good way) - blows off after an hour. Airy, crunchy, dancing fruit on the palate, notes of cranberry, pomegranate, orange and earth. High on acidity, very expressive. Gets better and better with air. A wine to sniff, and to sip with charcuterie and lighter cheese for example. Truly unique wine and a rare treat unfortunately. With Per in Copenhagen.

  • Thierry Allemand Tasting (Restaurant de Chine): Breathed for two hours before dinner, and revisited after all the Cornas, rather refreshing, more than comparable intensity after such heavy tannin wines. Orange flowers, beetroot, meaty, soy sauce, skinless but is it? Really incredible perfume here, so sharp and so precise. Tannin exists but almost unnotable. Elegant and opening palate, superbly deep spice, sweet but dry finish, forever lingering heat, so dimensional, very very impressive. 94-95

  • PNP into Zalto Burgundy glass (“Leaf” day): Pale orange with ruby tints and a watery rim. Bright colours.

Signature notes of petite wild red berries, tomatoes, flora, roses. Beautiful and authentic as always. Some hints of reduction upfront that does not bother.

Ethereal and delicate but also good bit of evolution and depth in glass with more dates like fruits, vegetables and secondary notes of herbs and flora, a little bit of a mix like in a gazpacho.

On palate, perfect level of acidity and minerality (and some petillance upfront) that is quite mellow with weightless tannins. Faint hints of VA that adds to the freshness and complexity. Clean finish.

The harmony overall of this wine is just hard to describe unless one tastes this. 94-95 points.

45 minutes upon opening, 2nd pour about 1/4 into the bottle: incredibly aromatic, and delicate on palate and a longer finish. This is hard to find comparables.

2 hours upon opening, about 1/2 into the bottle: more fruit flavours to support the nose and palate.

6 hours upon opening, about 4/5 into the bottle: more ripe bell pepper vegetal notes and some spices on finish.

  • PNP into tasting glass (“Flower” day): pale orange ruby with copperish hues, and some fine deposits.

Sadly a clear cork taint for the bottle.

Can still taste all the good acidity and great minerality and flavours on palate but won’t score this.

  • Fantastic wine - drank more like an orange wine than a red

Needed about an hour to open up - was singing thereafter

Not very food friendly - but outstanding by itself

  • Same as previous bottle. Least impressive vintage from Overnoy I've had. Maybe it will come around?

  • Drunk alongside the 2014, this was a sweeter, more immediate wine, with less complexity and follow through. With more Brett and yeasty notes on finish. Good now but feels like should be drunk over next 2-3 years.

  • Very interesting. Cloudy orange. Fruit and reduction on the nose with really juice, carbonic and energetic palate. Most of us liked it, but one called it cream soda and would pay not to drink again.

  • PNP into C&S tasting glass (“Flower”): Pale ruby to the eyes.

Both on nose and on palate share consistent notes as previous encounters.

As enjoyable as before. 94 points.

  • Tasting with Pierre Overnoy and Emmanuel Houillon in Kyoto (kiln in Kyoto, Japan): PNP into Radikon tasting glass (“Fruit” day): Bright ruby to the eyes. Nose bursting with petite red fruits and in general very consistent notes with the tastings before.

  • Same conditions as last time. Except noticing more lychees notes on nose upfront everything else is consistent. A true privilege.

  • PNP: Pale ruby like a rose but what a nose! Again just like the Chardonnay it has a very different nose than any other wine ever tasted - initially quite some candied red fruits but with some time savouriness, cherries and quinces the wildest yet most convincing spectrum of fruits!

On palate very consistent with the nose with a very broad and vibrant profile: Quite a bit of petillance but such a hedonistic palate: Perfection in balance of acidity, freshness, complexity (even at this young age). Infinitely drinkable and a perfect wine to drink on its own and/or sharing with friends/family.

A wine of true revelation - Elegance, understatement. Poised and full of refinement. 94-95 points for this showing.
