  • Much better than previous notes, particularly on the finish. Focused on just a few notes, but delivers well on them. Blackberry and plum nose. Silky tannins and soft mouthfeel. Flavors of Black fruit and juicy red raspberry. Finishes with a slightly drying note of cassis and spice, lingering on and on.

  • Beautiful strawberry nose with gentle flavors of wet stone and dried blueberries. The finish slowly builds with cedar and spice, drying at the end. Feminine and relaxed overall.

  • 15 months later and the wine has hit its stride. Dusty tart cherry with mushroom and stony undertones. Nice acidity. I wish I had more.

  • From a vineyard planted to Dijon 115 clone in 2004. Combined of 100% whole cluster (5 barrels), 50% whole cluster (9 barrels) and 20% whole cluster (4 barrels) fermentations. Aged in 18 barrels of which 0 were new, 1 was once used and 17 were older. Total production 440 cases. 14% alcohol.

    Surprisingly concentrated and almost fully opaque blackish-red appearance. Dense, dark-toned and quite powerful nose with ripe, sweet-toned aromas of boysenberries and dark plums, some inky tones, a little bit of juicy blueberry, light earthy notes and a floral hint of violets. The wine is dry, dense and medium-bodied with a quite concentrated overall feel. Flavors of red plums and ripe cranberries, some blueberry tones, light meaty notes of umami, a little bit of ferrous blood, a hint of stony minerality and a touch of dark, plummy fruit. The structure relies more on the high acidity than on the textural, gently grippy medium tannins. The finish is ripe, dark-tone and quite concentrated with lengthy flavors of dark plummy fruit, some stony mineral tones, a little bit of vibrant cherry-driven red fruit, light blueberry notes, a hint of meaty umami and a perfumed touch of violets. The high alcohol introduces some warmth to the end of the aftertaste.

    A rather bold and powerful Oregon Pinot Noir with lots of ripe, dark-toned fruit. However, the wine shows wonderfully floral overtones both in the nose and the taste and the acidity feels surprisingly high for such a bold, weighty Pinot Noir, making it retain good sense of freshness. An impressive and wonderfully complex effort, albeit a bit too ripe and dark-toned to fit into my ideal of Pinot Noir. However, seeing how sturdy, structured and youthful the wine still is, I can see it brimming with aging potential, so hopefully it picks up a bit more freshness as it ages. Compared to the Freedom Hill Pommard Clone 2016 that was tasted alongside, this was stylistically more burly and darker-toned aromatically, but at the same time slightly more expressive and open for business. Good stuff, all the same. Priced somewhat according to its quality at 46,50€.

  • Medium bodied savory, bright blue and purple fruits with excellent balance and a really nice finish. Drinking well now. Nice wine.

  • Wow! This was excellent. Big rich and ripe but with plenty of structure to support all the fruit and overall, nice balance and good complexity. Mostly dark berries with cranberry, earth and spice with terrific depth and a long finish. More fruit-foward and not as lean as I usually get from PG pinots, but with terrific fruit flavor. 93+

  • Great representation of the 2016 vintage. Dark fruit and somewhat closed up, but with a great mouth feel and very nice structure. I look forward to opening in a few years.

  • Decanted. Tasting note after about two hours in air (I'm learning).

    Wine is crimson, touch of purple. Not totally clear.

    Dust, cherries, forest floor, earth as top note on nose. Hint of clove, leather. Deeper notes reveal morello cherries, touch of flint.

    Wine is sound. Medium acid, medium alcohol, medium body. Tannins are present but not front and center, and not astringent. Wine is dry. Consistent with nose plus that nice dustiness really comes out on the palate. Maybe a touch of anise? Superb balance.

    Boy this is a nice wine. Great fruit flavor without bombardment. Not so concentrated (like certain California Pinots) that it gets tiresome. Beautiful expression of Pinot Noir. Can't wait to get my next case from these guys.

  • Pretty much exactly what I expected. Big for a Patty Green pinot with a slightly lush mouthfeel, and lots of dark, ripe, rich, sweet fruit. The fruit dominates, but there is plenty of structure to keep everything in balance. No notes and I drank it along with several others, so I won't rate, but it was outstanding.
