Discrete on the nose with hints of red fruits and blackberries. Much more profound on the palate which is also slightly perfumed. Full bodied with really lively fresh acid and quite rounded tannins. Hints of spices and tobacco. The fruit is a bit weak. But the balance is in overall fairly good. Good glass.

First opened last night. Medium-dark ruby. Ripe plum nose seems to have a lot of depth to it. Big wine in the mouth, quite voluptuous and ripe, on the exotic, wild side. Not your typical CdP, but I like it. The grenache that makes up the majority of the blend certainly stands out, as does the Mourvedre, though the latter is only 10% of the blend. This really opened as it sat in the bottle overnight. 5-11-16-8: 90/100.

80% Grenache and 10% each of Mourvèdre and Syrah, aged mostly in concrete. Medium ruby color. Offers red plum, fig, hints of blueberry, chocolate and a dusty earthiness. Silky texture, with a diaphanous quality that contrasts with the medium-full body. Fruit forward, with hints of chocolate and earth, framed by still-rustic chalky tannins. This has depth and grace and I plan to remain patient with the remaining two bottles!

Friday Night Double Blind Tasting $40+ (Bin 75 Alpharetta, GA): Reddish violet, clarity; sweet berries, plum, blueberry, raspberry, tart, sweet custardy edge, enticing floral, slight dusty mineral, touch of bramble and wild herb, slight jam quality, peppery; palate confirms nose with peppery sharper high toned red fruit, texture of Pinot but has to be Grenache, licorice and slight medicinal, kirsch on the finish; called '15 Mont Redon CdP.

A nose of red fruit and slightly funkiness. On the palate there's lively white pepper, red fruit and medium tannins -- unfortunately it also has an alcoholic note that stands out. Not bad, but certainly seems like it'd benefit from some age.
