whoa nelly, some serious heat on this wine. whisky, burnt orange, cinnamon, we had it at the end of the night and it served appropriately as after dinner spirits.

Needs decanting. Delicious Pritchard Hill Cab. Complex nose, medium body.on the pallet, reminds me of dark fruit and forest floor flavors. Not worth 100's of dollars but interesting to drink.

Sweet, stewed/liquor like fruit, not much in the way of tertiary flavors. None of the freshness or acidity I look for in wine. I don't mind fruit bombs, but this was just flat and far less interesting than wine I have had at less than half the price. There was an intensity to the fruit that made this worth trying and others at the party enjoyed this so ~88?
Preferred the 2010 Bond Matriarch we had side by side.
Double decanted ~2 hours

one of the top 5 wines i've ever tasted... opened on an evening recently in the midst of the Corona virus crisis and drank with a great friend.... just crazy complexity, length, depth

Deep purple color with little evident browning. Unfortunately the bouquet and flavor was dominated by harsh tobacco notes with little in the way of fruit. Only my sister liked it among the four drinkers. Clearly over the hill. With one exception, All prior bottles of Bryant family in my cellar have been quite exceptional, so I will need to taste through adjacent years. Drunk at Blue Mountain Beach with a nice New York strip on our night to stay in during our yearly visit to beautiful Blue Mountain Beach.

Drank with Ashleys at YiaYias. One of the best wines I've drank in a while and what I expect from cult cabs. Big fruity base with enough structure to make it stand up. Sweet but not "sweet." Opened and poured during champagne cocktails and drank over three hours at dinner. Drink anytime.

Perhaps one of the best bottles of wine I have had. This is certainly one of the best Bryant vintages out there. So smooth, polished, and refined. Its like laying silk over your tongue. 3-5 hour decant helps a great deal. see previous notes

3 hour decant. Absolutely intoxicating nose. Toffee, vanilla ice cream nose. Rich, full bodied. Very dark. Very smooth with a touch of heat on the finish. Loads of raspberry on the finish. This wine still needs a few years to show its best. This would benefit from an over night decant.

Sweet notes, complex, focused structure, carries from tip of tongue all the way through to a lengthy finish. Remarkably, we visited the winery last fall and had a barrel taste of the 2012, and while I usually fail at these things, you could see the heritage and resemblance. I consider myself lucky to have these wines, as they are one of California's best. Decades to go.

what can i say? One of the top 10 wines i've personally had. The nose was fresh with Napa fruit - dark fruit with a sweet vanilla tint. The palette was refreshing - smooth, silky with a finish that lasted beyond what a great wine is measured. This wine changed over time in the decanter - with menthol notes, stewed plums, blackberry and a slight tinge of cassis. Wow.

My wife and I shared this bottle with a lovely roasted rack of lamb and mushroom risotto. I decanted it for about 2 hours. The aroma was signature Cabernet and the fruit, balance, and finish was exquisite. It was certainly up to the task of competing with the lamb and by dinners end the wine was like red velvet cake. Phillipe Melka out did himself with this vintage.

X20 Pre-Holiday Feast (X20 - Yonkers, NY): Wow! This didn't have the effusive nose that the Colgin had nor the true balance the '99 Bryant had, but it had depth and power is spades. Huge notes of crushed blackberry, blueberry compote laced with minerals, you could absolutely tell this and the '99 were brethren, they had a very distinctive flavor profile that was so very different than the Colgin. This was squarely on the black fruit side of the aisle. We drank this wine over the course of the evening and it changed with each passing hour, opening another layer of petals to reveal it's true self. Delicious wine and my red WOTN. btw - bite of the cowboy rib-eye steak and a sip of this wine was an unbelievable experience.

evolves beautifully over several hours, from peppery to menthol to vanilla custard. A nice journey in a glass. Don't decant or I fear you'll miss out on this metamorphosis.

2003 California Cabernet Horizontal (Adour @ The St. Regis, Washington D.C.): Tasted blind in second flight, decanted 1.5 hours. Dark purple in the glass, the nose was sweet dark fruits and chocolate. On the palate, the wine was velevty smooth with sweet tannins and luscious fruits. Everything was balanced and in order, and the finish lasted over a minute without a trace of heat. Easily my WOTN - near perfection in a bottle.

Opened and poured. The nose is of pure berries, the color is dark ruby, the wine has a massive concentration of fruit, oak has not integrated yet, the texture is creamy and smooth and on the whole it feels a tad monolithic. I like the fruit purity and the concentration, but I wish for more complexity. Maybe over a little more time

the best Bryant and the best 2003 CA cab, massive but balanced, well integrated oak, developed over severals hours to the point that the nose was pure port but still fresh in the mouth

Really terrific. Very young still and drank without decanting. Dark ruby in color and fantastic nose - wild cherry and berry notes that were matched with the first taste. At first I thought it was overly fruity, but within 15 mnutes or so it all came together. This will be fantastic in the future - long life ahead.

Decanted 8 hours. Creme de cassis, red fruit and a touch of fresh herbs on the nose. Silky mouthfeel, great structure and excellent balance. Long, sweet finish. Beautiful today, this wine will improve with cellaring. This is my new CA cab of the vintage (was previously the Araujo).
