Medium depth of colour; mature fruit, cherry/plum, medium weight, with a rather dry finish that fades a bit. Delicate, and not without interest, but once again I find Grivot's wines rather hard work.

Last bottle from case. Very developed nose, not a huge amount of fruit. More earth and wood, some spices. Smoked bacon. Palate has more fruit than the nose would suggest. Brambly black berries, more of that spice. Doesn't appear to have much where else to go, so suggest drink up now.

Nice burgundy but not a lot going on. Short and lacking depth and warmth. Sad that one has to pay £50 to drink a wine at this level. Anyway clean clear and a bit thin for me.

Fairly light in color. Showing significant age now. Woody, spicy, camp fire aromas. Astringent hedgerow fruit, and quite sweet smelling. Savory palate. Some lovely slightly sweet fruit, especially through the mid palate and on to the length. Generous acidity. Chewy finish. Lovely wine.

A fairly mature colour, garnet and a touch of brown; quite a full, perfumed nose; by contrast, the palate is not so attractive, with slightly bitter damson fruit, a somewhat tough, earthy texture and a slightly short finish. Lacks charm.

Looks older than it is, tastes younger than it is, smells much younger (i.e. rather closed). Hints of earth and quite fleshy and smooth opening but some depth and complexity emerging as it opens up (despite 1 hour + decant). Restrained and relatively light. Certainly not sweet. A little simple and easy to see why some would be sceptical but had sufficient class and elegance to convince me on this occasion.

Very young. Slow oxed for six hours, then decanted for one. Tart and bracing at first, the fruit hibernating. Then some blood orange and subtle spice. Very persistent. Finally showing some tight elegant fruit and becoming more round and civilized. This will be a beauty in ten to fifteen years, but will probably never outshine its terroir or vintage. A firm, elegant, adolescent. 90+pts pure quality, 92pts personal preference.

Very little further development since last bottle in March 2010. Still has a nice depth of brambly fruit in amongst the smoky bacon, wet earth and spice. Again, very chewy on the finish. Very savoury. Couple of years in this one to go I'd think.

At a tasting with Mr Grivot himself. The wine has a ruby red color, but with an edge of yellow-brown. A nose with a hint of oranges and petroleum, but delightful!. A lovely rounded taste, lingering on the palate.

Burnt orange colour with ruby core. Very autumnal aromas, vegetation, wet leaves, and earth. Savoury fruit aromas and flavours. Quite chewy still, especially from the mid palate and into the finish.

A very minerally nose ... really minerally. this is much more attractive than the Ponsot. Lovely, balanced palate. This is a very classy wine. It's really balanced and elegant with a lovely purity.

Almost orange in colour now and looking aged. Nose however still has a lot of life to it. Very savoury, with some roasting meat juices. Forest floor, mulchy leaves and earth there too. And just enough red berry fruit lurking in the background. Palate is silky smooth, good level of savoury fruit and a haunting length. This is drinking perfectly now, and probably for another 3 years or so. Still needs significant decanting time to allow it to open up fully.

Tasted whilst suffering from a touch of flu, so wouldn't be fair to give a rating. Wine was very pale and tawny, with signs of age. What I could distinguish from the nose was earthiness and some chocolate and gamey notes. Palate was more fruity and tannins were quite chunky. Certainly developed well with time in the decanter and glass.

Brick colour; cherries, blackberries and plum on the nose, fresh and elegant, earthy notes and prunes on the palate. Good for drinking now.

Quite pale and looks over aged. Underwhelms initially but surprising power from mid palate to long finish. Very good but not great
