The nose is pretty and floral, but the palate is not ready, with sweet-tart candy notes. Leftovers were better 4 days later, and very promising, but still quite raw and mostly about potential. This is a strong hold for my preferences.

Tasting w/ The Gang @ Counselor Seiber's Pad (Orange County, CA): Disgorged January 2018. Almost completely Pinot Noir, with 3 grams of dosage. Creamy red fruit, lime chew and some finishing mineral. Honestly, I could have spent more time tasting this and I got to at the end of the flight so my notes here are brief.

Vosne night at NVNA. Drank in Zalto universal. Appearance is clear, medium intensity, yellow gold colour. Legs. Fast fading bubbles. Nose is clean, medium+ intensity, with aromas of baked apple tart, citrus honey lemon, stony minerality, red apple, red cherry, oxidative almond nut. Developed. On the palate, dry, high acidity, medium- alcohol (12.5%), medium+ body. Medium+ flavour intensity, with flavours of citrus honey lemon, stony minerality, almond nuts, red apples, red cherries, some smoke. Med+ finish. Very good quality. Aged grower champ. Well developed. Complex. 95% Pinot Noir, 5% Chardonnay. Dosage 3g/L. Disgorged Aug 2017.

Light oxidative, iron note intermixed with red Apple, light spice, and Pinot fruits. Very linear and precise on the entry then slightly fanning out and expand on the palate with complex flavours, salinity and grippy Long finish. Lovely.

Nose: The nose is extremely aromatic and deep, filled with bruised apples, almond paste, dried roses, lemon curds, quince, mint, smoke, biscuits, crushed rocks, and spiced pears.
Taste: Medium bodied with razor-like acidity. There is excellent balance and depth with bruised apples, almond paste, spiced pears, dried roses, mint, biscuits, and crushed rocks. This has a lot of poise along with a long, persistent finish.
Overall: This is wonderful. It shows off the more oxidative style of champagne, but the wine really comes together with air. This feels like it can age, but the style makes it open for business over a long period of time.

Le Mont Benoit is a rare Pinot noir driven cuvee from Frederic Savart, only a few thousand bottles produced. Tasted blind - Zingy and sharp with fresh tree fruits, ripe citrus, lemon infused chalk and crushed stones. Chardonnay driven, very low dosage with razor sharp acidity. Growth style Champagne, very young and tight with great potential. A serious and vinous champagne but too young to be judged harshly. Grower Chardonnay 2013? (92/100)

Belated Birthday celebration at ES KL. Tasted blind. Appearance is clear, pale intensity, gold colour. Legs. Fast fading bubbles. Nose is clean, medium+ intensity, with aromas of honey lemon oil, stony minerality, kumquats, oxidative almond nuts. Developing. on the palate, dry, high acidity, low alcohol (12%), medium+ body. Medium+ flavour intensity, with flavours of honey oil, stony minerality, rich citrus lemon fruit, kumquats, almond nuts. Medium+ finish. Very good quality. Real solid good stuff champagne. Just edges out Emmanuel Brochet's Le Mont Benoit version by a little bit for me. Can still develop more. Guessed the cepage correctly. Clearly a grower champ also. 95% Pinot Noir, 5% Chardonnay. Dosage 3g/L. Disgorged Aug 2017.

A masterpiece from Savart. 95% Pinot Noir, very balanced between fruit and acidity. Lovely to drink now but ideally age it to develop more complexity. A glimpse of the potential now.

Second bottle in three months.
This is drinking wonderfully right now. Still very fresh, but starting to gain volume and sweetness.

almonds, lemon, honey, river stone, loquat, oxidized apple, slight toast and yeast.
Nice balance, with slightly heavier body, but still energetic and fresh on the mouthfeel.

Marguet and Marie-Courtin, plus a little Savart and some Still Reds, Too (My House In The South OC): Disgorged 10/17, 100% Chard, 3 g/l dosage. Distinctly floral. I was so enamored with the aromatics on this bottle that I failed to write any other TNs. This bottle disappeared quickly, too.
