Quite different from previous bottles. We all got boiled sweets - even pear drops on the initial palate. Quite voluptuous in style otherwise but with good acidity. It was served next to a 17 Cervaro della Sala which did outperform.

2020 Winter Solstice: Bottle breathe for 1 hour and decant 15 min before serving. Attractive nose with floral, honey, zest with full body palate and mouth feel. A bit mineral feel but overall very balance. Medium finishing. The wine continues to evolve in the next 1:30 hour.

Age or defect? Not much fruit until it got quire warm. Huge difference from my latest bottle. Not the typical cork defect though. My last bottle might reveal the truth.

Clean, medium+ expressive nose (getting more intense with time) with minerality, citrus, salinity and some baking spices. Same aromas on the full-bodied creamy palate, with a medium well integrated acidity. As one other review before mentioned the oak is quite apparent but I experienced it as a feature adding to the complexity (with these alluring baking spices). With more time citrus and apple fruit aromas and especially an increasing salinity helped to balance the oak. The finish - initially surprisingly short - improved with some time in the glass too.
Overall a really pleasant experience, although it seems more a wine for one or two glasses as it is a tad heavy. Beside the elegance some deduction for the medium- complexity and aromatic precision. Nevertheless, wouldn’t hesitate to reorder it from an Italian restaurant wine list.
No decant needed but a short decant does certainly good things.

Recommended to us by the sommelier at the beautiful La Ciau del Tornavento in Piedmont, boasting one of the largest cellars in Italy. We were skeptical due to its youth, but all doubt was dispelled after the first sip. An absolutely stunning chardonnay - elegant yet weightless, and a real sense of clarity of fruit on the nose and the palate. Reminiscent of a top quality Burgundy. Our highlight of the trip perhaps - will be searching for more!

Trinity Wine Fair: The wine shows creamy, buttery, brioche, ripe stone fruit and caramel notes in the nose and the same goes for the palate, where the body is rich, a few mineral notes and a long finish

Tasting with Giacomo Conterno at Poderi Aldo Conterno. Served at 18-19 degrees, to feel the freshness of the fruit, no help from the refrigerator. Beautiful rich nose with stone, minerals, exotic fruit and honey. Creamy texture, buttery. Nice aperitif wine. Drink 22-29 according to winemaker.

Similar note. Full body and loads of honey and fruit. Almost like Grand Cru Burgundy white with a bit less complexity.
Decanted for 30 min before serving.
