In my cellar since release. Lovely bright medium lemon yellow color. Floral and orchard and stone fruit nose. Palate is very lime and white peach oriented. Very nice mineral notes and bright acidity. Finish has distinct lime zest and saline while being very long. Very classy and elegant. Beautiful texture and perhaps just a smidge of residual sugar.

Dinner at Bellyhappychef: A lovely textbook Riesling. Some petroleum on the nose, the fruit on this had impressive heft and concentration. No hints of excessive warmth and alcohol, and despite the weight it still gave a linear and driven finish.

füllig und süffig; am ersten Tag aus einem Riesling grand cru-Glas ein wenig unsortiert und botrytislastig. Am zweiten Tag in einem deutlich größeren Glas viel ausgewogener, sehr gutes Säure-Frucht-Spiel, einfach lecker. Sehr gutes P/L-Verhältnis.

Extrovert nose, developed enough, with ripe, floral and solar aromas such as mimosa, passion fruit, bergamotte and spicy minerality. The taste is dry and fruity, full-bodied yet not heavy, with serious concentration, medium alcohol (12.5) and well-buffered ripe acidity. Very tasty, long and rewarding. Probably at its best right now and over the next few years.

This has integrated beautifully over the last few years or so putting on some considerable weight. The nose is glorious and is unmistakably Riesling and displays the opulence of the vintage The fruit so clean and pure but fuller and more rounded compared to its edgy minerallity of its youth. I personally like a bit more tension and acidity in my wine but that's not to take away anything from this outstanding offering. I would recommend drinking this wine now as its drinking beautifully with a modest 12.5 alcohol content.

Lovely, medium yellow gold color. Nose of white flowers, petrol, pear, lemon zest and limestone. With more air there was some hibiscus on the nose. Palate has bright mouthwatering acidity and oily depth of texture and wonderful mouthfeel. Palate gets better with more air. Plenty of orchard fruits like pear and green apple as well as some lime and citrus zest. Very long unctuous finish with a touch of lanolin. Just delicious.

The color of this reisling is darker than usual. we have a yellow color turning to light brown but clear.
The nose is very open already at this young age on citrus fruits, some nuts, apple and spices.
In the mouth the wine has a medium high acidity, the alcohol is medium. Tasting the wine it is more viscous than reisling in general. The wine tends to wrap the mouth and stay attached for a long time. On the attack we get apples, almonds. After comes a lot of minerality.
The wine is quite long in the mouth but what I really found interesting in this reisling is that it gives a lot the impression of drinking a chardonnay with its woody side that we do not have with reisling. Could be a great pirate wine in a blind tasting!. We really feel that this reisling does not come from the Mosel because of its much beefier body that is typical of Rheingau.
We conclude it's not a typical reisling. The body and the weight of the wine in the mouth is not the norm of a reisling but ... a big but .... if we can pass through this issue of the non typicity, the wine is still a very good wine. I drank it over two days and the second day it tasted much better. It worked very well with sushi ...

Seriously good. Had a taste of it with Coravin. Still young but very complex. Very happy to have 4 bottles. Will drink them in 2-6 years if I can wait !

Intense lemony yellow-green color. Very open, rich and opulent nose with aromas of ripe lemony citrus fruit, some vague spicy character, a little bit of something toasty, light almond-driven nuttiness, a hint of hay, a touch of ripe yellow apple and a whiff of petrol. The wine is ripe and waxy, but somewhat restrained on the palate with subtle flavors of ripe yellow apple, some almond, a little bit of spicy red apple, a hint of stony minerality and a touch of sweet white peach. The structure is quite good with moderately high acidity. The finish is medium-long with flavors of ripe apple, juicy citrus fruits, some stony minerality, a hint of vague spice and a touch of rubbery reduction.
An enjoyable and quite stylish GG Riesling, but even though the wine feels pretty approachable now, it also is a bit all over the place and feels like it could use at least a few years to get its game together. Also, I suspect the wine must see some wood, because especially the nose shows some vaguely oaky aromas and creamy hints soggesting barrel aging. Otherwise the wine is quite classic Rheingau Riesling, although pretty ripe, fruit-forward and modest in acidity. Not that impressive now, because I prefer Rieslings with more structure and less ripeness, but probably this will turn out nice with some age. Somewhat overpriced at 35€.

Tasted two bottles on consecutive days . This score reflects the first and better bottle. A good example of the new GG style: dry, excellent complexity and balance, good acidity, minerality. Needs time, but should reward cellaring

Seriously good Riesling, hedonistic and big. Nose shows rich and creamy notes of peach & yellow fruits and also some medicinal/herbal elements. Strong hints from banana/vanilla. Complex. The mouthfeel is opulent with medium acidity. Very smooth and round. Sometimes feel almost like a oaked Chardonnay. Drank way too early and will develop further.

Not as open and flirty on the nose as Kaisersteinfels, but riper, bigger, deeper and more structured. Probably just needs a few more months to open up fully. Great stuff.

Lightly spiced citrus and apricot, all still primary fruit, very ripe. Great balance of fruit concentration and acidity. Oily texture, very long finish.

This was a stunner! Incredibly accessible and open at this point. Balanced, composed, beautiful. This was lovely on the nose, soft aromas of white flowers and some orchard fruit. On the palate, this was caressing while maintaining a lightness with its ample and focussed acidity. Everything was so in balance. Incredible!
