Nose of tropical fruit with hints of toasted coconut and creme brulee. Nicely balanced on the palate for my tastes, meaning not overly buttery / mouth-puckering. Oak plays a minor supporting role, definitely in the background rather than the forefront. Just a touch tight on the finish, though it gets better and better as the evening goes on. Would be a great one to try to pair with food. My pick would be coconut shrimp. appertif.

Beautiful chard. Very elegant styled and polished wine, that delivers lush layers of tropical fruit. Well balanced with just the right amount of creaminess and butter. Long, lingering finish for a chard. Made from a rare Hyde clone with great Carneros fruit. The Venge father and son winemaking team really made a great drinking chard that is exceptional.
