Spiced tart cherry/cranberry. Herbal, like a cherry/cranberry cough drop, and in a good way. Acidity is starting to fade, but still just barely in harmony with the rest of the wine, but despite it being nebbiolo, I feel like the tannins are already starting to fade. Good as an introduction to nebbiolo, but doesn't pack the tannic punch that I look for in nebbiolo (from my admittedly very limited experience). Probably at the end of it's drinking window.
Having said all that, despite what might sound like a middling review, it still packed enough punch and intensity to stand up to a hearty bowl of chili I made even if it wasn't the best pairing.

A far better wine on day two. That said, it’s a little thin (even for a langhe). Red berry, nice tannin level, earthy. Would make a great wine to cook with (meant in the best way).

Last glass of this 2016 Ebbio on day three and it has me wanting for more. Shitty day aside, this is such a clean, elegant and satisfying Nebbiolo with fantastic balance and natural tannins balanced by natural crunchy acidity. Bright mid palate red and orange fruit give way to tacky and chewy tannins that frame the vibrant fruit perfectly. At under $30 AUD in today’s terms it’s very good value all things considered. GW (winefront) 91 is bang on. I’m 3.5 out of 5. Drink now to two years while it’s young; enjoy it’s vibrancy. Great to see this wine under screwcap. More please Italy.

Colour: Clear and light red. Nose: Hints of Cherries. Palete: Cherries, balanced with dry tannins and some acid on the high side but quiet OK. Had it with Pasta Bolognese kind of style dish but I would prefer a wine with more body for this dish. This is a medium to light body.

The Langhe looks much better today. Very young, pure and polished. A good and straightforward example of Italian Nebbiolo. A bit simple and ‘glossy’ if you are looking for the Barolo or Barbaresco feeling. It seems that there’s appellation Langhe and ‘Villages’ Langhe emerging in the market and then declassified Barolo/Barb quality tiers. This is worth the price, but would go a little higher in price to get some interest like Chiarlo, Vajra, Benevelli Monchiero, Rossi, Sottimano Langhe etc. They can be had for $10 or so more, and offer twice as much.

Farge: Typisk nebbiolo Duft: Noe plomme(?) og hint av 'anilin' Smak: Skarpe tanniner, noe umoden rød frukt, mest surkirsebær. Dag 2 Duft: Hint av noe frukt Smak: Fortsatt uslepne tanniner. Noe frukt bak. Gir ikke grunn til å vente på baroloer av dette året.

This time no notes. Had it stand alone. Fairly balanced, but the high acid requier some food. I am not fond of the high acid Italian wines.

Velvety aroma. Sweet prune, tobacco, oak, spices. Medium-Soft tannins, lovely finish.

Dark cherry and blackberry fruit with notes of black licorice and earth. Hint of vanilla on the long silky finish. Great QPR!

It’s a good wine, does the trick and shows it’s a standard Langhe Nebbiolo, without disapointing or surprising anyone.
