Med lemon. Med (-) aromas of golden delicious apple, anise, earth, and some lees influence. 4 mos. in very large neutral French and Slavonian oak casks leave no perceptible oak spice. Dry, with med (+) acidity, med (+) tannins, med (+) alcohol (13.5%). The palate is smooth, with a touch of creaminess. Nicely balanced, with med (+) body, flavor intensity and length. Drink now, not likely to improve with further aging.

Great Verdicchio with a moderate amount of age on it (they can go much longer). Yellow apple, pear, lemon, salinity, brine, green almonds. Medium + body, great mouthfeel. Good with baked oysters.

Amaretto, bruised bananas foster, flan give the nose a decidedly dessert feel which is also slightly funky. The palate is dry, broad, oily, and nutty.
The flavor profile seems about as developed as it’s going to usefully get, M acid is keeping this alive for now but it’s feeling slightly tired and I wouldn’t try holding any longer.
This paired well with an oily pasta with fennel and cumin seed, chickpeas, kale, lemon, and feta but the food had more energy than the wine. Average value. 5.9/10, might have been 6 or higher a year or two ago when a little fresher.

Last bottle of 6. Sadly oxidized like the bottle we had last summer. However in December, we had a beautifully evolved wine which was still full of life.

One of my friends who is not a huge white wine drinker said this was the wine of the night, and one of his favorite whites ever. Paired it with some spicy chicken wings which turned out great. This is a crowd pleaser. There are a few moving parts, and good acidity. A great white.

Lemon, saline/mineral. Decent acidity. Slightly sweet. Apple and some floral notes. Awesome pairing with seared scallops with fennel in lemon caper sauce.

This was almost undrinkable at day 1, very sharp, almost nothing on the nose. Day 2 it showed quite nice, day 3 it was pretty flat and again very sharp.

Not sure why the word Classico is repeated in the database (maybe somebody suffered a hiccup when typing), but this is the closest to what I see on the label of my bottle. 13.5% alcohol. Very short dense cork. The colour is pale. The nose is dominated by fresh apples, not unlike what I get in some Maconnais wines. The mouth is equally fresh, with a saline component in the finish; altogether very satisfying, and worked well with the pan-fried cod. Good length. My first encounter with Verdicchio, and I am impressed. Thanks are due to the generous donor.

NB: this was a 2016 half-bottle (375ml), with no 'Reserva' anywhere on front or back label, it was the 'Classico Superiore DOC' level.
Bought The Wine Society UK for £6.75
Liked this very much, a simple well-made dry(ish) white wine with plenty of personality. Ready, drink up. Good VFMoney.
C....deep straw already.
N....not much
T....lovely earthy flavours backed up by lemon pith, ripe apples, enough acidity, fruit is good though not outstanding. Well-made but not a complex wine, oak is in balance, drinking very well right now, I wouldn't cellar it.
VFM....fair price. I've had better/more compex Verdicchio, but I've had to pay more for it. I'd buy these 2016 half-bottles from Bucci again.

Similar, but not exactly the same, as last bottle. Not sure if just extremely reductive, or if slightly tainted by transport, or exposure. Not singing like previous bottles from vintage and same case.

I was quite surprised. Not expected much but this Verdicchio has a wonderful saline, inner core, good amount of fruit which isn’t too upfront and a long finish. Everyone at the dinner table liked it. A wine not only for beginners.

PnP. Better integrated than the last bottle but perhaps not as interesting with the intense saline components followed by good fruit depth and finish. Very interesting wine.

Flavorsome, toothsome, vinous. Textural on the palate. Bill has to say, that is pretty good. Has the flavor of Verdicchio Bill notes. Its all there i would say.

Waxy, citric-like fruit with tropical hints and spices. Fresh and mineral. A little fatness, but nicely balanced by the acidity. Nice first encounter with this producer.

The nose was fresh with a honied sweetness along with notes of crushed stone, green apple, peach and hints of lime. On the palate, I found silky, slightly oily textures with crisp stone fruits and stunning minerality. It finished long with palate-coating oily textures offset by green apple acidity and saline-minerality.

PnP. Medium rich gold. Saline citrus (lemony) nose. Nice richness on the palate but perhaps now needs the higher acidity. Intriguing wine - drink up.

Indigena World Tour Day 3: The Marche (Il Buco Alimentari & Vineria, NYC): Huge nose of citrus and minerals. Also huge in the mouth. A powerhouse wow wine. The first wine I swallowed completely. Stunning. If Zind-Humbrecht made a Verdicchio. Should improve for years to come.
