Reluctant nose with some classic GC animal, fresh strawberry, and reduction. Flint. Violet candies. Wonderfully light in the mouth with crisp cranberry acidity and light, balanced finished that goes on medium-long. Floral, perfumed in the nose and in the finish. But a bit small, a bit narrow. Really good.

Fourrier Clos St Jacques 1er Cru 2016. Jesus dette er ferskt. Selv med masse luft blir den hakket for rå i frukten for meg. Andre rundt bordet faller mer pladask enn meg.

This drinks much too young for me to score. Reading the notes here I was hopeful the wine would give me a sneak peak into its future, but it’s so dense it didn’t reveal much. deep purple fruited, inky and iodine. There is good tension/energy but it needs years and years [92-95]

Holiday Dinner - Champ, Burg, Piedmont, Rayas and a ringer, Bordeaux and etc. (Officina - Washington D.C.): Hedonistic expressive nose displaying opulent yet pure black fruit with a hint of red, crushed blackberry, black cherry, a hint of strawberry jelly, a hint of liquid smoke, smoked meat, heavy cream, dark spices and earth. Excellent concentration, opulent sweet black fruit, rich, round and warm but also pure and detailed, perfect amount of acidity and mineral, and a seamless long sweet black fruit driven finish with a hint of smoke and dark spices at the end. I slightly prefer the 16’s richness. Excellent showing and a long promising life ahead.

My favourite wine of the evening. Much more depth and power than the cherbaudes. Not a blockbuster vintage like his 10 or 15. Good for the medium term. Like this a lot.

瓶醒5小时
飘逸、浓郁、复杂的综合香气,草莓果酱、玫瑰花、豆蔻和迷迭香结尾有烟熏气息
口味咸鲜,质地坚实。结构宏大紧致,还有极强的陈年潜力

Domaine Fourrier Cellar Visit and Tasting (Day 9, Visit 4) (Gevrey-Chambertin): Tasting at the domaine. Complex array of black fruits, meaty character and savory spices. Very dense, yet engaging and balanced. A masterpiece 1er Cru.

Pearl of Burgundy 2016 en Primeur tasting (Hong Kong): More reserved than the Cherbaudes, darker fruit notes, deep. Lots of energy, elegant, will need time. Fourrier was really a stand out in this tasting.
