Many thanks to Neil for very kindly bringing this. Given the age of this we approached it with a certain trepidation but to our delight this was still drinking really nicely without a hint of premox. Colour was deep yellow. Nose of almonds, honey and flowers. Palate developed in the glass with stiil some acidity, and some nicely spiced honeyed fruit. Buttery with some intensity. Lovely.

Great nose - floral, stones, citrus and toasted almond, it draws you in. Light-to-mediumweight palate with racy lemon fruit, stones almonds and flowers. Probably the finest example of the 2002 that I've had. Absolutely brilliant with cracked dungeness crab and summerpoint oysters. Outstanding.

Champagne and 82 Bordeaux Night (Berkeley): Another beautiful 2002 Colin-Deleger! Medium golden color. Nose is classic vanilla, almond citrus and mineral. the palate has a nice combination of racy citrus and minerality combined opulent flower and vanilla. Outstanding.

Saturday Dinner including 3 Edmunds-St. Johns: My streak with 2002 Colin-Deleger continues- another beautiful bottle! Medium golden color. Nose is classic vanilla, almond citrus and mineral. Palate was a bit of a surprise - I was expecting a racy Chaumees and got a richer bodied Chassagne. The flavors from the nose repeated with opulence. Outstanding.

Much better than a few years ago. Wonderfull nose with exotic fruits but also airy and fresh. Creamy marked by minerals and nice acidity. The finish is quite long and I wish I had a couple more bottles as I think this will be fine the next 5 years.

More in the modern creamy/vanilla style rather than mineral focused. Initially enjoyable it got less interesting as time went by. A bit showy and lacked real definition/expression. Not a style for the purist.

Pale yellow. On the nose, a lively combination of minerality and citrus notes. In the mouth, the interplay of the citrus notes and the gradually intensifying minerality make this a very refreshing wine to drink even at this young age. The very good ripeness of the fruit is nicely balanced by the acids and the minerality--maybe the drinkability of this wine now argues it doesn't have a long future, but I have to think this will continue to show better with age.
