Very nice. Earthy, moucha dark fruit nose, with nice raspberry fruit and plum on the palate with a mellow, medium finish. Will try more wines from this producer and Washington.

This was a very pleasant surprise! Dark garnet, with a nose of rich black fruit, the palate was an explosive combination of blackberry, dark chocolate and bramble, with a long polished finish. Balanced and nuanced, this juice was the result of good fruit, appropriate terroir and a winemaker's judicious use of oak and skill in bringing out the best of Washington's perfect climate for Merlot. Loved it!

The first merlot I've had in ages. This wine was a pleasure. Lovely dark ruby color, with a spicy nose of dark fruit, tobacco and a hint of mint. Juicy in the mouth black raspberries and cherries, kissed by mint. Soft tannins with a lingering finish.

Nose of dark fruit, blackcurrants, blackberries, black cherries, with some mocha; rich dark fruit flavors, almost a bomb, some mocha, a hint of vanilla; lovely tannins for structure, with spicy (cardamom?) black cherries lingering on the long finish. Super QPR.

nose: a rich and spicy experience of cherry and blackberry syrup. Palatet: tannins. very little fruit. Really disappointing. The entire attack, midpalate and finish was all tannin. It wasn't awful tannin, it was actually quite mild and pleasant but there was nothing else there to titillate the senses. Finally, the finish did have a peek of sour cherry at the very end. Perhaps my palate was off. I would revisit again.

2007 Passport to Woodinville weekend; 3/31/2007-4/1/2007 (Woodinville, WA): Nose of cherry and some earthiness. Big flavors of sweet black cherries and some mocha. The fruit flavors were very rich, and almost bordered on fig. Medium to full bodied wine with a nice mouthfeel and a very long finish.

Walker's Newport Tasting (The Spiced Pear): 9/14/09: Smoky, rich nose. Nice on the palate, a little too much. 87-88
4/6/09: Rich. Tasty, with a nice lush mouth feel. Very nice, but the price is too much in this market. 88+

Very tannic, strong nose, not nearly as good as my 1st bottle. Decanting may help

Nose was very enjoyable, smelled a bit like hay. Limited depth but I guess decent for the price. Fruity warm aftertaste. A decent merlot.

Solid Merlot; deep tones and texture; medium bodied; dark fruit; tremendous depth at this price point; compared well to the 2004 Januik.
