Really opened up after a few hours. Savory, earthy, balanced, with acwonderful lingering finish. Very soft tannins and vibrant acidity. A bit pricey, but outstanding.

Refreshing and vibrant on the first taste, a lovely wine with light minerality, salinty, fruit and gentle oak. This is a simple clean crisp supple wine to drink. Showing No signs of age this wine drinks like it is years younger. A gentle expression of sonoma coast and the wine maker.

Medium red, with mix of amber color on the edges; a few fast thin legs followed by slower, even longer legs; sweet yet reserved strawberry note on the nose; strong strawberry, blackberry, tobacco up front, finishes with a little bite of cinnamon; definitely needs to mellow out, wait for 2021.

Throwdown – Failla (Fort Ross) vs. Cakebread (Annahala Ranch) vs. Arnot-Roberts (Legan)
All good, yes very good. Failla won tonight, but A-R had better QPR. Cakebread was just fine, but not better than the other guys.
Failla – Extraordinary wine. Medium/light body. Pale Ruby. Deep, rich, smooth raspberry flavors. Light soft finish. Pricy but worth it. Exceptional with happy hour and dinner.

Bay Area Wine Tour; 1/11/2019-1/15/2019 (Bay Area, CA): Also rich and deep. Dark raisin, cherries. Great fruit core but needs 3-5 years. Less expressive than Hirsch.
