Opened at Caprice in Hong Kong. P&P, enjoyed over dinner.
Extremely solid Bourgogne Blanc, and punches above its supposed classification. Good buttery chardonnay notes coming through, but balanced with the some floral notes and pronounced acidity that you'd expect from good Beaune whites.
That being said, I'm not sure this merits the price of entry. Maybe pay a little bit more for Coche at the same level, or go for a good 1er Cru somewhere else.

Magnums Dinner (Friend's Place, Wong Chuk Hang, Hong Kong): Served blind in a single bottle. Very pale yellow. Nose is melted unsalted butter but very light, a particular herb like comfrey or something. Palate is light but not ripe, very saline, almost salty, salted butter, lots of minerals and round pebbles. Quite a distinctive signature. Quiet resonance on the finish. Elegant and enjoyable. I don't think this is quite what is on the Appellation label because I understand that a fair amount of better-Appellation grapes go into this maker's cuvee, which explain the non-supermarket price. 90-91

Allowed one hour of breathing. Heavy swirling remove the reductive popcorn and reveal intense mineral, fruits and floral aroma. Good structure and layers.

Fragrant nose, white flowers, yellow fruits, fresh grass. Elegant and welcoming palate, peach, ripe lemon, some buttered scones as well as a fascinating salinity. Wonderful!

Elegant, balanced, youthful and bright. This is what a Bourgogne should be -- not too many notes or nuances, but delightful and balanced with lemon, acid and a subtle hint of oak.

Very well-made and well-balanced but painfully young and quite acidic. I thought this far inferior to the '16 Coche Bourgogne Blanc opened alongside it (which was really good). And while this is a very nice wine, I far prefer many White Burg 1ers that you can buy for the same price.

Blind. Ikke fullt så imponerende som jeg har opplevd A. Ente før, selv på BB. God og frisk burgunder, uten den helt store kompleksiteten. Her er det jo Coche-priser, og høyere.

Medium+ nose intensity with notes of lemon, green apple. Sharp acidity. Medium finish. High acidity on palate. Still youthful.

Drunk 10-12c. Very pale yellow robe, straight up butter and very fine mouthfeel. The big leagues of Bourgogne Blanc sans appellation.

Seems like a wine driven by winemaking rather than the grapes... shows great skill to produce a good wine from an off vintage.

@ Zoldering | Lime nose. The palate is lively, vibrant and elegant, balanced by fine acidity, but there's not much depth or complexity here!
