Sour cherries and raspberries, high acidity, grippy tannins, purity and elegance, real sense of place. Just what I’m looking for in a Nebbiolo. A runaway bargain year in, year out.

This was a beautiful, feminine, almost Chambolle-like expression of Nebbiolo. Light-bodied, light-colored, the cool vintage impact really showing through. No tannins to speak of, fully integrated, this is light on the tar and velvety. A nice and different signature indeed.

Here we go atruffling... (aka Piedmont... and Veneto); 11/16/2018-11/30/2018 (Alba, Guarene, Modena, Barolo, La Morra, Lake Garda .....): Part of the wine tasting class at Alba Truffle festival and to be fair I found this quite tolerable and would have gone one or two in the ranking. It's more of an easy wine. I start with hickory notes and maybe some stem, but when you get the mid-palate there is cherry there as well. A very clean approach. Decent tannins. Some dried flowers. A touch of the acid which will make you think more elegant than some. Don't let my note fool you, this is an ok wine, not a great wine. The person running our class was all about the blackberry but I didn't see it as much. From La Morra. 15% alcohol.

Very nice. Also quite young - I think it needs another 3 years at least. Good fruit, bright acidity and fine, chalky tannins Very textural.

Bright and high-pitched red fruit profile with fine, lacy tannins. Balanced and approachable, but no rush in drinking either.

redberries, roses, tar, and dried flowers. Medium-high acidity, medium body, medium tannin, good balance. It's a nice barolo.

Young Barolo. Red fruits. Medium tannins. Medium acidity. Needs some time in bottle but okay now with steak or heavy flavors.
