Double decanted two hours before service. Opaque purple. Great black fruits with a really balanced acid/tannin structure. A really easy wine to drink. Would pair with lamb loin very easily. Great drinking now, but will hold up for years. Wish I had more.

Friday Group Brown Bag Tasting (R&D's): Double blind. Dark fruit dominates the nose and palate. Hints of raisin combine with something a bit herbal; there's also a sappiness here that I find enjoyable. Flavors of blackberry syrup, sage and plum. Excellent. (J&J)

Popped and poured. A little Brett on the nose- not a problem for me. Bright and juicy fruit; hasn't faded at all. The tannins have softened some, but are still there. The acid is still plentiful, bringing balance. A very nice wine that's getting better. It should be very nice around 2018.

Doing some cellar thinning and thought I'd revisit this wine. Still not enjoyable to me. Port-like fruit, oak and some tannin - much like a barrel sample. Not for me anymore. My remaining bottles will be gifted to those that will get some enjoyment from them.

This is the oldest vintage of Greenwood Ranch that I have. It has huge fruit and tannins but with an earthy overtone that is a trademark of Vincent Arroyo in my opinion. Great finish and a really good Petite.

Dark purple color with aromas and flavors of mint, earth, blackberry, licorice, tar and pepper. The tannins are well integrated and this still has enough fruit and structure to last 5 to 7 years.

Inky purple color. Blackberry, licorice, pepper, black raspberry, and earth on the nose. Full body with solid, ripe tannins and good acidity. Youthfully grapey on the palate with blackberries, pepper, black cherry, and a hint of mint on the palate. Fairly long finish with the spicy fruit slowly fading. This could use a lot more cellar time. This still tastes grapey like a much younger wine.

Popped and poured. Dark red. Great black fruit. Still pretty tannic, but they don't get in the way of enjoying the wine. Really nice.

Just delicious. Earthy, funky, showing a nice middle aged character. Fruit is still quite bold and this will likely age well for a long time to come.
