Coravin’d a couple of glasses and was tight. Next night opened with some friends. Really superbly well balanced across the nose and palate with hazelnut, acacia, white blossoms etc.

Wonderful changes in the palate of this wine during the time the bottle was open. Closed in the beginning, but nicely balanced already after the first glass. Maybe it was al little too early to drink this cru.

From memory. Pale yellow white color. Still very young. Nose of citrus zest and white orchard fruit. Hazelnut and some spice. On the palate, this was quite broad shouldered with great energy and density on the mid palate. Citrus and white fruit on the palate as well with a slightly sappy and concentrated finish with great length. Absolutely delicious now but it’s a baby.

Opened about 30 min in advance. A perfect balance of white fruit, mineral, citrus and acid. A complete wine from front palate interest through a solid mid-palate weight to an expansive finish. There's absolutely nothing to dislike in this wine, but as Brad pointed out, there is an electricity that you expect from Lafon that is missing at this point. Will hold the rest of the bottles for a couple of years.

As it typically does, Lafon's Poruzots opened immediately (it's a great pop 'n pour option). As Alex indicates, it's a touch less thrilling than some of the other 17 Lafon's, but it is a delight.

Crisp, vibrant, with some of the electricity I have experienced in other '17 Lafon wines. However, this came across as more muted and not as thrilling as recent bottles of Charmes and Goutte d'Or. Perhaps this will reveal more in time.

Lafon's 2017 Poruzots, like all of his finer crus this vintage, is excellent with a cool nose of green orchard fruit, roasted hazelnut, and matchstick. Medium full body kept light with plenty of acidity. Good persistence to the broad finish of roasted nut and soil tones. This'll go the distance. (45 hectoliters from 1 hectare elevage in 25% new oak)

Mye mer seriøs i uttrykket enn Goutte d’Or. Mørk, mineralsk, alvorlig. Hvit og syrlig frukt. For en konsentrasjon i munn. Balanseres av en elektrisk syre. For en vin dette er. Kalketete, salt, syrlig, mineralsk.

Wow! '17 Lafon are gorgeous. This, like the Baronne is tight and pointed, and it is chock full of mineral. The fruit is taut and pointed, but it is pure and delicious. It has apple skin, and white stone fruit essence, chalky limestone, and a spice hint like coriander or powdered ginger. Like the Baronne, this has a living, breathing green streak a mile wide. This is great!

Burgundy Dinner with a Bordeaux Producer (RPM Steak - Chicago IL): Slightly reductive start, but that dissipated in 15-30 minutes , and everything was obviously rich and powerful from the beginning. Already in its peak drinking window. Very good now.

Very reserved initially. Air/time very much helped it blossom, but this is holding back a bit.

Moderate energy here given the vintage.

This was so amazing again! I wish I had more. Green and black impressions, matchstick, textured, amazing finish, fluid, lifted!

There's a lot to love about this wine. Classy Meursault and gorgeous. It reminded me of Colin-Morey's 2010 Genevrieres.

Extremely good. Lean and crisp with nice acidity but still has quite rich fruit coming through. Really great stuff, even at this young age.

Everything lighter than Goutte, also slightly carbonic at this stage.
