Absolutely gorgeous nose of cherry, damp forest floor, and a hint of baking spice. On the palate, sour cherry, black cherry, black tea. Good acidity carries through to the finish

A beautiful, expressive nose of red cherry fruit, a bit of earth/rock, and tea. Similar red fruits on the palate. A lovely Eola Amity Pinot that has a wealth of dimension. Nice pairing with our smoked pork cheddar burgers too.

Light purplish ruby red. Insanely floral on the nose with some bramble berries, roses, lilac and red cherries. Medium acidity (5.5/10) with a medium minus body. Lovely palate with roses, black cherries, branches and dark gravel. Long finish. Drink till 2025.

Be prepared for acid. Paired with a delicious smoked suckling pig from Altamont farms, remembering this wine had bracing acidity a year ago. The wine was perfect against the succulent fatty pork, that's what it needs at this stage.

Plum Market Luxury Tasting (Bad Hunter - Chicago IL): Walk around tasting, brief note. Rich, ripe and exotically spiced with whole cluster character. Good weight, slightly fleshy middle for right now. Much better tonight vs when tasted last year. I expect this will be better yet in another few years.

Nice middle ground between earthiness and opulence. The amount of stem inclusion seems dialed back. Dominated by softer red fruit, vanilla bean, earth, roasted beef and dried herbs. Structure is sound with plenty of acid and tannins gripping. Improved dramatically after 2-3 hours open but in reality it needs 3-4 years.

PHMG WAG: Newer or Rarer Oregon Pinot Noir (WillLyon Valley): No obvious flaw, but tasted liked some extra acid was thrown in (thanks Paul!) or a failed attempt to make Burgundy in Oregon. A previous bottle tasted at the winery was MUCH better, so there is some bottle variation. Stemmy tart red cherry and spice. Hope you get one of the OTHER bottles!

2016 Lingua Franca with Larry Stone (La Compagnie des Vins Surnaturels): Perfumed nose from red fruits, bacon, and spices. Soft and round on the palate. Finishes strong with firm tannins on a long finish. Unsure of its age worthiness, but Plow could not be drinking any better today. Bravo!

Spice like clove, cherries, smoke, oak, well structured and lighter than "The Plow". Long finish with a slight bitterness to it. Still quite high dry-extract with medium+ tannins, needs time. Outstanding quality 92p

Dead on the nose. Boring on the first day. There’s not much going on. It was PNP with some air, so maybe I should have decanted it!?
It did improve on day two, and was best on day three, so for that reason it’s a hold. Will wait atleast a year to try another one. Maybe two.

Plum Market Spring Wine Extravaganza (Chicago, IL): Hint of mushroom on the nose. The fruit here is ripe and juicy; on the overripe side of ripe for sure. Touch of sweetness as well.

Lingua Franca Tasting with Larry Stone (Knightsbridge - Northbrook IL): Tasting, brief note. The most ripe of the lineup with sweet spice. Good+ concentration with moderate length and nuance. Seemed slightly warmer vs the others in the lineup.
