Expressive nose of fully matured red berries, caramel, tobacco and smoke and massive new world oak. Medium bodied palate, very smooth. Ample phenolic sweetness, tobacco, liquorice, plum, chocolate, nicely framed by menthol and roast aromas. Drink now and over coming 5 years.

14.5% alcohol; composite cork with maximum of 2 mm wine penetration, light to medium-weight foil; fast to medium legs, dark purple; cork exudes a hefty scent of bourbon as does the wine itself, along with toast and avocado notes; the wine was opened at room temperature (25 degrees C), vinturied, and tasted twenty minutes later; if you like bourbon, you won't be put off by the bourbon barrel treatment; otherwise it ruins what could otherwise have been a decent wine -- with a long finish now permeated with a bitter-like aftertaste; no rating given

Not bad at initial taste but went downhill from there. Got very sweet and a little thick. Could not drink second glass and dumped remainder of bottle. Over priced at $20. Unique but not recommended for cab lovers!

This is truly a good bottle of wine at a great price point. The bourbon is not overpowering like some bourbon barrel aged wines. Gives all the right sensations in the mouth and on the tongue.

Remembering that this is a $13 bottle of cab...the nose is full of bourbon carameliness. The flavor is more tart than I expected - the nose is misleading. Pretty short finish - if you’re looking for a. Our on finished wine, try Cooper & Thief instead.

On the nose dark fruits and watermelon hints. The alcohol really masks a lot of the fragrance though, which also happens on the palate. Sweet dark fruit, good tannins. Enjoyable, brown sugar, rhubarb finish. Too much alcohol to my liking , masking some of the good taste.

Deep ruby in color. Blackberry, dill, cedar, vanilla, brown sugar on the nose. Cedar, dark fruit and black pepper on the tongue with aggressive chewy tannins that overshadow the wine’s acidity. The finish is warm and black peppery.

Nose evolved from dank (dank) chocolate to cherry-vanilla-bourbon to cloying overripe dark fruit. Never engaging or pleasant. Medium tannins, soft on palate. Easy to drink but never interesting. At times offputting. Does not invite attentative mouthfuls. Pair it up with a smoked brisket, rich slaw, and a lot of chatter. Start with a couple beers.

Wow! First sniff thought I am drinking bourbon :) Very fruit forward with hint of plum. Full bodied with some sweetness over the typically cassis and black fruit cab sav. Something new for a change.

Med ruby with thick, glass-staining legs. Med + to intense nose of black cherry, blackberry, smoke, dark chocolate, vanilla and Christmas spices. Since last year, the bourbon oak barrel treatment has become more predominant, not in a good way. The palate is dry, consistent with the nose, with med acidity and tannins. After a year, this wine has really softened. The alcohol (14.5%) is high. Med (+) flavor intensity and med length. Drink now, not likely to improve with further aging.

Chose this from a very limited selection in Page AZ. Ever had an Old Fashioned with red wine as it’s base as opposed to bourbon whisky? Well, this feels exactly like that. But not in a good way.

Opened 2 bottles with friends to accompany smoked beef brisket and grilled sausages. Off-dry but with enough character to stand up to the bold flavors of the meal. Everyone enjoyed this easy-to-drink cab.

The first year they made this it was amazing. We bought multiple cases. Since then it's been a simple, boring wine, no character, no body, not enough tannins, very little bourbon. We buy one bottle every year, hoping that they go back to the original process, so far we keep being disappointed. Pass on this one.

Sweet, thick, dark, syrupy, almost no bouquet on the nose, Welch's grape juice and cherry Robitussin on the palate, no finish, but easy enough to drink. A teenager's first wine.

Clear, bright, medium ruby with a purple hue, medium (+) extract and thick, glass-staining legs. The nose is clean, medium (+) in intensity with black cherry, black berry, smoke, dill, dark chocolate, and sweet baking spices from 3 months of aging in American oak bourbon barrels. The short oak treatment is quite nice and is much less obtrusive than one would expect. The palate is dry, consistent with the nose, with medium to medium (+) acidity and tannins. The tannins are still a little rough and youthful but that is to be expected considering that this Cabernet is barely a year old. The alcohol (14.5%) is high and could use a little more time to be better integrated. This is a full-bodied, youthful, New World Cabernet with medium (+) flavor intensity and length. It is drinkable now, but will reward another year of two of aging and will last well through at least 2023. This is a super value at $11 from Total Wine. 89 (+)
