Decanted for sediment. Mostly consistent with previous bottle. Really firing on all cylinders. Juicy, crunchy tart red raspberries and cherries on the nose and palate along with some earthy, stemmy, spicy notes as well. Medium+ acidity, medium- tannin and body. Mouthwatering finish. Fantastic bottle of wine.

I had forgotten I still had any of the Foillard Morgon wines, and what a treat! A bit of volatile acidity at first, but that blew off quickly. Silky, red fruit, dances on the tongue, lip-smackingly delicious.

A lot of fruit on the nose and palate, strawberries and soft spices, some floral hints too, nice acidity and soft tannins with good texture, the finish is nice, nothing super complex but fresh and drinks easy with that Burgundian style a little more then a pure Bojo vinification style.

Red cherries and berries, some floral notes, grapefruit, and candy on the nose. Nice acidity and structure with raspberries, red cherries, and pomegranate on the palate. Nice finish. I enjoyed this more than the 2017 3.14 from a few weeks ago. Lovely wine, will only get better over the next decade.

Foillard's 2017 Morgon Cuvée Corcelette is delicious, sappy and bright, with mineral-inflected strawberry and cherry with violet accents. Juicy on the palate with good acidity and fine minerality. Not a blockbuster vintage but classic and quite good for drinking over the next few years.

This is another very lovely bottle; the nose is still super primary with ripe red berry fruits, a bit of anise/spice, floral notes, and some minerality. The palate has lovely juicy and crunchy fruit, good energy and freshness, good depth, and a lovely mineral driven finish. Quite enjoyable. Would like to continue to follow this cuvee further.

Damn delicious! One of most mineral wines I've ever had--but still full of fruit and green field/cut grass aromas. Rather light on tannin and pretty soft already so I really wouldn't age this for much longer. So many interesting primary and secondary flavors that I'm not sure if the tertiary development would be advantageous?

Poured a glass on opening and this was drinking like a pleasant but unspectacular Beaujolais. I left the remainder of the bottle to breath for about four hours (no decanter) until dinner was ready. What a difference! By dinner time, the wine was an aromatically explosive onslaught of cool blue and purple fruits, set off by granite and floral notes. Good acidity so far as Beaujolais goes. A sure winner and one that will undoubtedly improve although this was sadly my only bottle.

Opened and decanted 1.5 hours ahead of mango-salsa pork chops. Cloudy, purple color with a crimson hue. The nose brings fresh lavender, spring violets, forest floor, evergreen, blackberry pie, mint, cinnamon, and cloves. The palate is medium, square, compact, and concentrated, bringing tart rhubarb, blueberries, strawberries, orange peel, campfire, chalk, and lingering high-toned red cherry/pomegranate notes into the thick, extended finish. Still shy, but the purity of the elements is there. Drink 2022-2030. Technical score: 92. Enjoyment score: 92.

On initial pop and pour, the wine was very vegetal and earthy but after about an hour or so of air, those earthy notes were mixed with a variety of fresh red fruits including strawberry, cherry, cranberry and pomegranate. Similar flavors on the palate with tart and crunchy red fruit, some earthy, green herbal notes and a bit of peppery spice. Medium+ acid, medium tannin. A balanced yet complex wine. Room to grow but delicious now with air.

Always a pleasure to drink some Beaujolais like this. This was interesting to compare to the 2018 I had not so long ago. Still a dark fruit profile with that minerality present (granit), but this vintage is more austere and structured with firmer tannins. I'd probably wait 5-6 years to try again to give more time.

Plush and silky; by all means enjoyable, but not seeing in this wine that special Foillard factor that I've heard so often about. Black cherry, earth and black tea on the nose; feels a bit like a burgundy from a hot year - that is to say, ripe and forward but slightly flagging on the acidity. Which is odd, because I've had 2017 bojos that were anything but. Slightly better balanced on day 2, with more minerality/tanginess detectable.

P&p; drinking well right away and better yet with an hour+ of air in the bottle; seems to be in a good place. Savory, spicy, earthy, wild red berry aromas, with floral and herbaceous nuances. Nice pungency, depth and a generally Burgundian/Pinotesque/Foillard sensibility. Full of life, good acidity; terrific combination of freshness, expressiveness and depth. Good stuff!

It’s been a while since I’ve enjoyed a bottle of Foillard, and I have completely forgotten how unique and great the wines from this domaine are. This is no exception. Even if 2017 is a warm year and it says 14% alc on the label, this is a beauty. Opens up with a nose of flowers, cranberry fruit and stones. Expressive on the palate, but the body is lean, light, elegant. Notes of licorice pastilles, bright red fruit, earth. Juicy. Great balance between tannins, fruit and acidity. Good structure, tannins need to soften up, good freshness. Lay this down 3-5 years and this will be great.

Palate w red and black cherries, herbs, bark, hint of bubblegum, and mild baking spices on the palate. Medium bodied w good acids and some minerality. Nice lingering finish w fruit, bark and eucalyptus. The fruit is ripe but not overblown, balanced by sufficient acids. Having said that, doesn't have quite the verve and vivacity of more classic vintages.90+

Ah, Foillard. The curse of high expectations. This was good - very good even - but when I don't get magic, I end up disappointed. With that out of the way, I don't mean to exaggerate. This is a very good Morgon. Fairly fleshy and ripe, more so than other 2017 Bojos I've had. Lacking a little in aromatic interest and that "it" factor. Nevertheless this improved mightily on the second night, with the fruit taking a backseat to the minerals. While not profound now, I'm not unhappy to have a few more in the cellar.

This is just delicious. The nose is floral and full of ripe red berry fruits; the fruit is almost liqueur like, but not quite overripe. There is a hint of minerality underlying. The palate is like biting into juicy, ripe fruit with a lovely floral note. The balance is very good and this will easily develop for several years. A very charming and delicious example of Morgon.

A sure big plume of ripe candied red cherry, purple flowers, leaves, even tea-like. The sweetish ripe cherry tea continues to coat the palate, but being rather light bodied, was not cloying. That heightened alcohol heat seemed distracting though. Finish of fair length, and gets more tea-like towards the end

Refined and well balanced. Wild strawberries with a subtle acidity. A very enjoyable wine. Balanced, rich and some earthy complexity.

Finish of fair length, and gets more tea-like towards the end

strawberries, strawberry jam, a bit of orange marmalade and celery. Good dose of acidity and a very drinkable bottle. Well made morgon. I prefer the 2015 however was more layered. I did not like the celery taste.

Dark red - purple tint. When I came to write this the camp fire started so all I smell is burning wood now but I recall red/purple fruit and a little wet soil/earth. Nice acidity with fast approaching tannin that works well with plum, Bing cherry, bitter chocolate powder, black pepper.

Bouche chatoyante. Beaucoup de plaisir.

Less fruit forward compared to my last bottle but still the same elements. Spice intensity seemed more pronounce. Good juice

LA rookies reunited: ruby violet color.
Nose aromatic, red fruits. Palate some sappy depth to the fruit yet also a "coolness" to the fruit as well, structured -- ?stems.
Still very young, the fruit is appealing now but I think this could be great in a few years. 91 pts

A bit too plush. Deep purple/berry jam. Expressive perfume, tons of dark fruit. Wished for more depth.

Damn.... This is good! Bright and crunchy red fruit and plum. Notes of pepper and spice and a streak of minerality. Really complex and refreshing. Super fun wine. Paired nicely with lamb chops.
