  • 0.375 L bottle mid Feb 2023: light golden color; intense bouquet of apricots, peaches, pears, apples, lime, some honeydew and brioche; filigree tree fruit aromas on the palate accompanied by a fine acidity.

  • Drinking nicely, but needs more time.

  • Striking limpid green-gold in the glass, catching sunbeams outside and throwing them around; I took a couple minutes to just marvel at the beauty of the color. Struck match reduction is quite prominent at first, but thankfully blows off after a couple hours. Two hours in, this is quite lovely. Medium amplitude, appropriate for 1er cru, with lovely tension and a panoply of lemon, orchard fruit, some green plums fanning out over solid base of saline minerals. Some shy white florals show up on the mid-palate. Deelish. 91-92

Even better on night 2, with the reduction gone, the flowers bloom and there’s almost a freeze dried raspberries and cream thing going that is transient and elusive.l - making you reach for the glass over and over. Just beautiful. 93

  • Sophier said it correctly. Just short and lacking depth. Also, it did improve over time. Will save the next bottle for several years to see if it improves.

  • Light yellow/green color. Flinty bouquet. Good fruit extract combines with lively acidity and an almost saline character. This Chablis needs 3-4 more years to reach maturity. Excellent Chablis, just young.

  • Lemon and apple on the nose; lemon, yellow apple, pear, and notes of lime and salinity on the medium finish, with strong acidity. This was an excellent value at about $30.

  • When I noticed the price dropping on this usually reliable Chablis, I pounced. I've always respected La Chablisienne, trusted the dependable Fourchaume vineyard site, and felt certain I couldn't go wrong, especially considering the fine vintage year. Bought two bottles. Wrong twice, for different reasons. The first bottle led me into the valley of the shadow of premox. No more need be said. The second, popped open, was light in color and promising, possessing a somewhat citrusy bouquet. The mistake was taking a sip. Not awful, just short and sharp, with none of the bright minerality we seek in Chablis. Most of all, no pleasure at all. P.S. My score is based entirely on bottle number two. P.P.S. Don't dump it. Improved noticeably after an overnight in the refrigerator.

  • La Chablisienne continues to be one of the best values in the region; this is textbook quality Chablis, with dried white flowers, lemon, lime, lees and seaspray on the nose. The palate is balanced and fresh with a line of beautiful zippy acidity, just a touch of creamy mouthfeel, and an unctuous finish. Delicious.

  • Good balance of acidity. Grass and mineral with citrus. Excellent

  • Medium lemon colour. Medium (+) intensity. Developing.
Dry, medium (+) acidity, medium alcohol, medium (+) body, medium flavour intensity, medium (+) finish.
Aroma and flavour of lemon, ripe pear, banana, delicate wet stone and savoury.
Very good wine can drink now but has potential for ageing.

  • Nice wine. Ripe with balance but not much in the way of minerals. Won't repurchase.

  • Appearance: medium lemon, medium tearing, no rim variation, no gas.

Nose: clean, developing, medium intensity, lemon, tangerine, green apple, yellow apple, white peach, lime leaf, white flower, wet stone, chalk, salty minerality, clotted cream, toasted almond, honey.

Palate: dry, high acid, medium alcohol (13%), medium body, pronounced intensity, medium+ finish, tiny bit of phenolic bitterness, lemon, tangerine, green apple, yellow apple, white peach, lime leaf, white flower, wet stone, chalk, salty minerality, clotted cream, toasted almond, honey.

Overall: A solid Chablis with a classic flavor profile and good depth/intensity. Lots of savory mineral elements, and a nice structure. This could definitely age some more to develop more honeyed notes, but it's rather balanced and tasty right now.

  • Very harmonious already, very good acidity and body balance will hopefully be even more tasty with some cellaring. Almost no oak coming through.
