Not in a great place at the moment, rounded and showing the alcohol. Disjointed. Day 2 it showed more but really didn't give me the quality level that should be had from this vineyard. We'll see where it goes, could be in a dumb phase the moment.

Probably a flawed bottle. Much darker than it should have been at this stage. No real backbone whatsoever. The next bottle from the batch was a bit better

PnP at a restaurant during a two-hour dinner. Butter, honey, ripe citrus fruits, and minerals are present. It was rich and fat, but I could not detect the nutty flavor usually associated with Meursault. The characteristic of the wine was unchanged over the 2-hour period. I shall try decanting the next time to see if it will help. Very slightly more freshness and acidity would have made this an outstanding wine. 90 today. 92+ potential in 2-5 years.

At Sumi, Noosa Junction. This wine opened with an immediate impression of fresh orchard fruits, white apples and pears with touches of lemon and honey. The palate has plenty of rich fruit and extract but is a little round and modern compared to the 2014 Bouchard. Certainly this has plenty of crowd appeal and delicious immediacy. A very enjoyable Perrieres.

Some nice Burgundies (Chicago, IL): A very nice MP, even if it comes across as a little oakier than I would like. Surprisingly some good ripeness in the fruit here as well; this doesn't quite have the electricity that I would expect from a 2017; the fruit here has a slightly oily texture.

Popped-and-poured. First time for this wine in this vintage, and I am impressed. Slightly fat and rounded to start; more minerality, brightness and textural complexity kept emerging. Really impressive at the 2-hour mark when finished.

A total dud. Wet cardboard and fur on the nose. The palate is flat and near-tasteless, with an astringent mouthfeel. Almost no discernible fruit aromas or flavors. Alkaline and bitter on the finish.
I had another bottle of this just a couple of weeks ago that was ridiculously good. A night and day difference from this dorky busted-up “...Matt Dahhyymuuuhn [Damon]" bottle. (If you're one of the five people of the free world who actually get that joke, you get a gold star!).
Sealed with a natural cork. What a surprise... :(
The Bottle List credited me for the bottle out of their own pocket (no recourse from the Chateau). Bottle List is top service indeed!
Vice Versa weekend and dinner: A powerful showing, with a decent amount of oomph and raw authority on the front end, asserting lemon and lime juice, sea foam, wet limestone, quince, and orange bitters flavors with full-frontal might and explosive complexity. The layering of flavor is not inhibited by the supremacy of its tannic strength and has the capacity to successfully deliver sophisticated and detailed essence without just being a big brute. The listed 14% ABV is not a surprise, with a finish that displays a slight angularity at the moment due to the perception of alcohol on the back end. Otherwise, this is a fabulous bottle of Meursault. Dainty white Burg aficionados probably need not apply. If you’re a domestic Chardonnay lover looking for a gateway into the expat world, this Perrieres might just be your bridge to the “other side.” Drink now with some air (even a possible decant for an hour or so), or hold for a couple of years to see if the booze balances-out even better.

Second bottle in the last month. This showed perhaps a touch more youthful and brooding though no less stuffed with rich, decadent orchard fruit with nut and spice accents. Long finish that is just a but chunky and less refined tonight. Loads of upside potential. (admittedly i had more time and focus with the prior bottle)

Blind 2014 / 2017 White Burgundy (Chez Winefool): Blind. I found this to be the most serious wine in the flight that showed it's greatness with contemplation as its still not an obvious wine. The nose is intriguing if a little modest right now with spice, minerals, honeyed nuts and pure fruit. Palate is already delicious and with time shows serious depth and complexity with orchard, tropical and citrus fruit, florals and spice. Long floral and citrus oil finish just lingers. Terrific wine. My 1/5, Group #3.

A solid performer. Lemon, lime, quince, and clementine zest dance on the palate. A sea salt and travertine streak adds energy and tension. The lemon-dominant flavor provides a solid core for the other complex citrus and mineral notes. Balanced succulence from beginning to end, finishing on the inviting saline note. Drink now and over the next 5+ years.

Highly drinkable awesome wine. Medium golden color with a hint of straw green. Medium bodied, medium + acidity. Silky mouthfeel. Aromas of ripe green Apple and pear, with meadow spring flowers. Similar flavor profile although a flinty salinity shone through a bit. Could see 93-94 on this wine as it evolves. Finish was medium length which tamped the score down a point or two. Highly recommended and good value too

Justerini Burgundy 2017 tasting (London): Nose of pears and topical fruit, wet stone, very aromatic and open. Very rich but perhaps not high enough tension and acidity for my taste. 90-92p.

A 65th Birthday Celebration (Schur House - Riverwoods IL): Small glass. Less power, more accessible and ripeness vs Charmes Dessus, this is very good now through the next 5 years.

Big wine. Too rich and heavy at this stage for my taste. May be better with time.
Didn’t taste old but lacked some feshness

Burgundy Dinner with Friends (The Bristol - Chicago IL): Nicely ripe with lots of orchard fruit and toasted hazelnut, with bright mineral textures getting evert more attention. Still a bit tight, so upside from here.

PnP at restaurant. Finished within 30 minutes. Rich with good fruit, but never got the time to develop. Decanting may have been a good option

Good Wine with an Exciting Super Bowl (The Krengels - Bannockburn IL): Small glass, brief note. Nicely rich with plenty of orchard fruit, but also very precise and brightly textured from middle through (long-ish) finish. Very good now, with clear upside.
