I like it, but for reasons altogether different from white wines designed for food. In essence, this is a lovely aperitif along the lines of a medium-dry sherry. Typical of other Prisoner wines, it's over-the-top, heavily oaked, a little oxidized, with a bunch of sweet, slightly cooked fruit. Tho basically Chardonnay, I suspect there may be Viognier and/or Muscat in the blend. It's quite alcoholic: 14.5%. The French would sip this as an aperitif, but rarely drink it with a meal, unless they lived in southern France where the hot climate can yield some high alcohol whites. Very intelligently designed for the American palate, tho I'd guess it would be a success in Australia as well.

Over-oaked and over-malolactic-ed. Pretty much as you'd expect from the prisoner wine company, over everything. Not even sure it matters what the grape is.

Just delicious. A tad buttery and a tad dry with a lovely Chardonnay bouquet. Though it's a blend it does remind one of the California chards of old, but with some softening characteristics of other white varietals. I enjoyed it by itself and with salmon. Would definitely have it again.

Viscus and more full throttle blend than any other tonight. Sort of the kind of wine that Orin Swift was known for in the red variety presented in a white wine. Hardly white however as the wine appears to be dark yellow and almost butterscotch. Flavors to match the butterscotch.

De la vanille, des notes boisées et beurrées au nez. Idem en bouche, avec du résiduel. Bonne longueur sur une acidité moyenne-basse. Gros chardo !

Ripe pear and white peach, overshadowed by vanilla and butterscotch and a touch of almond. Mostly barrel notes persist through a long finish.

Delightful. Nutty. Peach. Caramel. Mildly buttery.

A little sweet, strong peach overtones.

Straw-yellow in color. Nose of oak, peach, citrus. Full bodied with apple flavors. Oakiness is a distraction.
