I clearly liked this much better than the last bottle (using a new Grassl Cru glass vs. Riedel Vinum Pinot Noir); While still very modern in style, this was better structured with lush, full fruit; Great length, depth, and character; A hint of iron/iodine; Still better slightly chilled; I now suspect both the glass (as this is the second time in two weeks that I've revisited a wine with the Grassl's and come away with a markedly improved impression) and my prior tasting note (how could this bottle be that much improved)

Last bottle of this surprising, affordable Pinot Noir from the Santa Rita Hills. Medium garnet color. Aromas of dried cranberry, blood orange, leather, mushroom and toast. Satin texture, medium body, silky tannins and juicy red fruit, blood orange, clove and umami on the palate. Bright, tart and a real pleasure.

Meant as random BBQ wine. Drank out of stemless, which I strongly dislike but that's what the hosts had, so didn't feel like I really could get intimate with this wine. But I wished I'd been able to because the incredible floral aromas kept flooring me. Well made and quaffable and there was a bright, soft floral nose that was just beautiful. Like tiny, fresh grape blossoms on a warm central coast evening. I'm off to find another bottle – or case!. For a sub-$20 wine this is QPR grand slam.

A moderately jammy pinot with big acidity to balance. Initial aromas of cherry and strawberry licorice followed by rose petal, agave nectar and vanilla. Strikingly loud on the palate with tart cherry, rhubarb and oak with chalky tannins and a long, spicy finish.

Brick red color. Nose is boysenberry, prune, vanilla, and rhubarb. Medium bodied bigger style Pinot with soft+ tannins and medium+ acidity. Palate is cherry, vanilla, and a touch of forest floor. It’s a bigger style than the more elegant versions of Pinot I normally enjoy. 81 pts

Medium-deep ruby red in color. Full, forward & fragrant nose of ripe fruit aromas of cherries, strawberries & plums with overtones of floral & earthy/dusty notes, spices, minerals & oak/vanilla in the background. Medium bodied with a very good concentration of well balanced & smooth textured, ripe fruit flavors cherries, strawberries & plums with spices, earthiness, minerals & oak/vanilla. Lingering finish. Drinks quite well at present although it does has the fruit & structure for continued development with a few years of additional aging. Excellent value when found at discount.
Medium garnet color. Offers dried strawberry, blood orange, clove, leather, mushroom and potpourri. Satin texture, medium-bodied, juicy red fruit on the palate. Bright, tart, and slightly earthy with silky tannins. Much more enjoyable than what was going on around us.

PnP no decant. Light, ruby red, great balance with acidity and minerality, a straight-up, down the middle SRH Pinot that makes you realize why you love SRH pinots, especially at this price point. A wonderful find, I just bought more.

PNP. Medium garnet color. Offers dried strawberry, wood smoke, clove, mushroom, soy and dried leaves. Satin texture, medium body, with bright red fruit, earth and smoke flavors supported by silky tannins. A bit of elegance to this absolute steal of a Pinot Noir.

This is the Reserve bottle (the word Reserve is imprinted on the label) which is only available at the winery and different from what is purchased at the local store (reserve is not imprinted on the label). When I purchased it I would have given it a 94. Unfortunately, I believe the wine was in a dumb phase when opened. While still a good Pinot, I needed to downgrade the score from what it should be and was.

Extremely well balanced with dark juicy cherries and white pepper. Nose also includes hints of honey and hay. Lingering, beautiful mouth feel. Some interesting layers of spiciest...perhaps clove and cinnamon.

Opened up on second glass to show some minerals and spices to go with the slightly ripe red fruit

I was concerned when it was delivered because the bottle was 85 degrees. Opened one to see if it was flawed but tastes very nice. Great value.

Very smooth, full-bodied and vibrant/young at this point. I expect it will gain some more complexity with a couple more years in the cellar.
