From Half-Bottle : Coppery colour in aspect. Lots of orange/apricot marmalade in the nose & mouth. Interesting, but a bit too much for my palate. Sweetness / Acidity a bit off balance. Good, but nothing exceptional.

Medium gold, very viscous, and starbright. Very well balanced with the uber-sweetness, full body, yet mouthwatering acids, with loads of honey, dried apricot, ginger, cloves, cinnamon, and even a bit of toasted brioche. Very lengthy of mostly candies, honey and cinnamon. Great wine!

Yet another glorious bottle. No point in repeating myself, other than to say it is still lovely. A big rich thing with a deftness of touch that belies its huge flavours....

This is beautifully alive. Full bodied and rich, it has a gentle botrytis nose with grilled pineapple and apricots on the palate. Long, lifted and delicious. So good now it will be difficult to leave it to mature and possibly even improve a little bit more?

From imperial. Lovely honeyed stone fruit, orange peel, white flowers and marzipan on the nose. On the palate rich, quite sweet and luscious, with notes of honey, almonds, ripe fruit. Nice depth and complexity, maybe a little bit heavy. Wonderful finish. 92-94

My hands down favorite of the Fargues we tried. Although not considered a great year (too wet and therefore less sweet), this was the most drinkable and enjoyable one for me in the tasting.

Very fragrant of candied citron and honey, and a similar palate that wasn't overly complex but had nice concentration and moderate length. Apparently not a great vintage, but tasty enough.

Tasted this at the Chateau itself! Beautiful, full bodied Sauternes! Very similar to the Y'quem just up the street, but a fraction the price. Well worth drinking. Honey, apricots, peaches come to mind. I cant imagine anyone would be disappointed drinking this beautiful wine.

taste: good feel, though a bit light with honey tones, lemon juice, and white peach notes
overall: extremely young and very light in the glass. Nice and perfumed that should pick up weight as it ages with a lemon juice attack and white peach finish

I am no Sauternes expert but this was lovely! Still in great shape. Colour shows oxidation but on the palate no worries.

Dinner w/ Doug & Sena & Alex & David...Sadly, Rob Was There Too (Doug & Sena's): Copper colored. Full bodied with flavors of citrus, honey, quince and unsweetened butterscotch. Not overly sweet, lacks some concentration, but I admire the elegance.

Darryl’s birthday gathering at Art and Soul. (Art and Soul Restaurant - Washington DC): A good clean not so botrytis driven Sauternes. Lemon candy, peach and ginger. Medium concentration and fresh palate. Pretty straightforward fruit expression but quite tasty. Not necessarily an exceptional Sauternes.

2004 - The Last Affordable Vintage? (Sweets and Savories. Fullerton near Ashland. Chicago. IL): Sight: Light straw color. Low viscosity.
Smell: sweet and unctious.
Taste: Sauternes in the house! Cling peaches, sauteeed apple tart, and some wisps of mango. A fleeting wisp of cinnamon paid a visit as well.
Overall - good stuff. 90 points
