Pale tawny. Pronounced. Ethereal and scented. Rose, cola, tar, dried cherry and orange, prune, tomates, tabacco. Oak. High acidity, high tannins, fine. 13,6% abv. Long and complex Outstanding++
NB: 36 months in french oak 97% Nebbiolo, 3% Vespolina
DOC size: 8 hectares. West of Gattinara. Soils: more iron-rich and gravelly. Generally, this makes the wine taste more of rocks and minerals.

Exactly the same as previous bottle - read, clearly past its prime. Improved somewhat after 60 mins of air contact, but even then, it was mostly acid. I imagine my bottles (purchased at auction) were not properly stored at some point.

Not long since the last bottle so nothing to add except that this time I'll give it the nod and push it up excellent. Really a great old school Nebbiolo in my opinion.

Very close to 90 for excellent but maybe just lacking that little something to push it past the post. But still, really very good. Very light colour which belies the wines intensity. Developed beautifully after opening. Fruit tending towards cherry I'd say with other stuff such as forest floor and perhaps cigar in there too. In a good place I think with no real upside to keeping it a lot longer.

Probably past its prime (which I find surprising, given it is barely 10yrs old). Fruit seems to be gone, tannins are fully integrated, and there are only subtle hints of tar and rose petal. A touch of smoke. Not much complexity. Good acidity, so at least if plays OK with rich meaty dishes. A bit underwhelming, even factoring the not exactly great vintage.

Last of the bottles and probably not a moment too soon. Tar, smoke, leather starting to dominate. Would recommend drinking any remaining bottles. I think the bottles I had peaked a year or 2 ago.

Nice approachable wine. Can drink immediately or give an hour or so max after opening. Best to finish the day of opening. Seems fine to drink now with no real upside to keeping longer.

Decanted before dinner at home. Light, translucent color with almost an orange-ish tint. Was tight with a very short finish upon first opening. After 2 hours in the decanter opened up for a very polished, smooth texture that showed more and more of the sour cherry flavor over time. Very good but feels like the window to drink is next 3-5 years, not 5 -10.

Flavor profile described well above. Lightweight Nebbiolo fruit, taste, accessible tannin and acid structure. Give this 2+ hours of air prior. Last glass at 3 hours was best.

Color: medium-light garnet Nose: sour cherry and strawberry coulis, but floral more than fruit forward with tons of roses. Anise and menthol. Tomato concentrate. Copper Palate: high acidity and very modest tannin for a medium-light body. Elegant aromas of sour cherry and hints of plum and oxidized apple. Almost metallic at times, has a certain umami heft at the mid palate Finish: medium
Very, very nice. Popped and poured but best after about an hour. Refined and very elegant here, lacking the langhe tar indulgence and instead showing a refined and prominent mineral profile. I could detect no barrel

. Genteel, easy bouquet. Nothing less than fresh. Ambient cherry. A mint leaf. . A mouthful; big sigh. Pale mountain wine. . Casual expansion of powdery tannin. . Laid back rupture of juicy red berry fruit leans in the direction of the finish. . Back to the nose: it’s more now. An interior of sweet perfume. Cakes and liqueurs. Productive. Fresh. Bucolic. . Chew on the sleek tannins and they produce a dash of mint and Tunisian spice. . An hour later, something new. A savory, meaty sensation, like a roast is reaching temperature, in a bath of fennel and nutmeg. Fig. Date. Orange. Sour cherries. . The structure of this wine continues to gain precision and vigor, bringing with it more weightless sweetness; the two are always together. Finale, explosive with shards of heirloom spicy redberry. . Now every minute that passes, the wine doubles in impact. Deceptively soft textures, consisting entirely of fruit, bear operatic demonstrations of storytelling. It’s remarkable. . Devoid of aggression. Replete with confidence. Wholistic. Integrated. . This cup started shy, almost absent; but with immersion something entirely different happened

Delightful! Silky smooth, sour cherry, carries a bit of weight but still very elegant. What a find!!
