20 months after the prior: savory/ balsamic cherry, again, with perhaps a slight suggestion of Kirsch. Fabulous upon opening, great on the second night, and fading a bit on the third.

"Wines in the Garden" (Hermitage, Amsterdam, NL): Consumer tasting, brief note. From old vines in La Lutenière. Marvellous nose, so fragrant, such charming aromatics; good concentration and weight, still quite firm and tannic on the palate. Needs a few years. Punches far above its weight. And so does its price....

My first time with this producer, and after 1 hours in carafe I never got to smell spices and white pepper like that in burgundy. Especially the pepper which I am used to taste in Northern Rhone. More to discover for me from this vigneron.

Côte de Nuits Tasting (Freiheit Vinothek, Ulm, Germany): Glass: Zwiesel Sensory Burgundy Wine opened and decanted 1-2h before the tasting. Tasted blind. Clear, medium-deep ruby color with purple reflexes. Clean, medium intense nose. Fresh, young, tight, green/stems, fine. Dry, good acidity, a bit rough/raw tannin. Dense and cool, lean, lots of fine red fruit (cherries), medium length. 88-89

The textual note immediately below describes it well for us. In addition we will say, this was somewhat closed and unyielding on day one. On the second day, and especially the third, it blossomed. We will wait a few years to open the next.

90-93. Color is a glistening garnet. Bouquet has dark berries brambly in nature engulfed in vanillin wood tones. Palate of extremely round chewy and inviting tannins and plenty of cherry liqueur. Finishes medium with nice red fruits. Excellent Bourgogne from a stellar producer however the price might be on the high side at $90

Consumed on a night with no power, no lights and not a lot of sleep the previous two days, so take this with a large grain of salt. I found the wine rather hard and unyielding. It gave glimpses of what I normally find in M-G Bourgogne, but just didn't want to come out and play, even after being open a few hours. I was only allocated a few bottles, so I don't want to go back to the well again very soon. Will probably wait several years before trying again. Chalk it up to another reminder that 2020 just sucks.
Smooth and silky... (yes that’s how I like my burgs). A fairly simple wine, not really having the longest of finishes, but it is Bourgogne level after all. Goes down so easily. Good pairing w/ steak and black truffle mustard.

So silky and easy to drink. Drinking very well at present. No rush, though.

Still young, IMO, so this might get better with more time, but I like this - red berries, a little thin on the palate, but otherwise enjoyable.

Exactly what you want for a Bourgogne. Five years is plenty on this — super juicy, balanced, and structured. Lots of berry notes.
