This was excellent and is in a perfect drinking window. Fine, golden color. On the nose, white orchard fruit, spice, and a touch of hazelnut. More than one person at the table mention Meursault while tasting this. The 2017 is just signing with ripe fruit and balanced acidity and lift. The palate has good white fruit notes, apple and pear, combined with a tension and sweet acidity and with great balance. A long finish. Really good QPR from a master in white wine and a great vintage.

Slightly reticent nose that took time to open up, but on the palate it’s absolutely textbook white burgundy. Good balance between the new-school high acid style and old-school round and rich style without being disjointed. Zesty citrus fruits that culminated with a very good finish.
I’m usually sceptical about ‘drinking above its level’ comments but no doubt that it’s merited here. Possibly my favourite white burg producer, shame it is so difficult to source.

Beautiful pale gold color, medium tearing. Ripe fruit aromas of pears, bruised apples, dries sweet herbs, camomile tea with honey. On the palate there were some sherry-like aromas at least for me, maybe almond skins and ginger. The fruit taste like just about to get fully ripe, crunchy pear, peach and white flowers. Refreshing (high acid), medium body, food friendly!

Nose of white orchard fruits, pear and apple. Rather round with slightly sweet and exotic notes. Touch of citrus and floral notes. Not much oak evident. Palate is ripe white fruit and citrus (much more than the nose). Good ball of acidity, but balanced with the fruit. Lovely medium bodied mouth feel that is quite luxurious and velvety. As it opens, more apple and orchard fruits come out on the palate. Ripe and pure. Good length and balanced through the finish. Very good Bourgogne. Feels like this is still quite young and could benefit with another year or two in bottle. But delicious now as well.

Overripe on the way to premox. Deep golden color. Nose of overripe apples and peaches, raisins. Not a pleasure. Bad bottle?

Pierre Morey vertical 1989-2017 (Singapore/Zoom): Nose of bruised red apples, touch of lemon and flowers. Light palate. Very well made for the level. Does not come across as simple.

Crisper more acidic end of the spectrum. Well structured and probably can age a while

Yellow. Quite racy nose. Wonderful texture, pear fruit, real spice, excellent length. This is terrific at this level.
