Festival of Phil (Phil's place, Putney, Sydney): From Coravin. On the nose it's waxy, with honey, lemon, slight lanolin, a little oyster shell. In the mouth it shows a lemony tang, textured grip, slightly waxy but slightly linear, honey. With time in the glass starts to fall away a little...might need to tidy this one up

Coravin fun - Alsace, Loire and Random French (My place, Kent Street): From Coravin. Aromas of lanolin, honey, slight lemon, bees wax, a little lemon peel. Juicy, rich, honeyed, a little glycerol fatness to the mid palate, very slight texture, all travel long, tangy finish. Very good indeed.

Annual Coravin blitz - day one (My place, Kent Street): From Coravin. Honey, lemon, lanolin, bees wax, a little floral and perfumed as well. Rich, honeyed, juicy, lemon joins here as well, exceedingly long, quite viscose. Glorious

Stunning wine for me. Nose is alive with lemon and lime slices, menthol and herbs, river pebbles and mineral notes. Palate is the same flavours as the nose, but lighter, more balanced, crispier and cleaner. So young - only quibble, is there enough flesh....? No harm in drinking now....
Vouvray and chenin blanc tasting (Prince Sydney, 40 Hansard Street): Aromas of fresh cut grass and almost briny notes, minerals, slight spice, muted honey and citric notes. In the mouth the wine is dry but the honeyed flavours are more to the fore – still with that underpinning of citrus. Lasts very long on the palate. Perhaps even very slight oxidation here but lovely and very much still alive.

Burgs & Barolos (Bronte): pale yellow, good lustre, but not obviously old virtually nothing on the nose, some faint hint of florals on long aeration. lovely off-dry wine, definite residual sugar gives weight and a pleasing long after-taste. not overly complex, mainly about honeyed fruits, not much spice. a decent not especially long finish. drinks beautifully given its age.
Like the younger bottles I have tried, luscious, off-dry, creamy mouthfeel. With age though this has taken on pronounced spicy flavours such as cinnamon. Excellent.
