  • A very nice and soft rendition of Pauillac, and clearly a cut from the frabric of the king's robe. Charming and fruit froward, yet elegant and somewhat exotic. In the 2018 I pick up that sweet blueberry note that probably comes through from the cleverly timed picking of the fruit that avoids the heaviness that fills many other bottles. Everything about this wine is charming and cute except for the price and the ugly label. On one hand you have an artist commissioned label commemorating each vintage, and on the other, you have...red grapes. This can hold for at least 15 years or more but very pretty to drink as it is. • Drank w Dana on Thursday eve on our Indian food night; decanted and took an immediate taste; super tight and lots of tannins; about thirty minutes later it became silkier with hints of berries and dark jams starting to peak through; rich finish started to really show its colors towards the end; nice bottle that is enjoyable now and worth the price.

  • Leave the wine alone for 5 years and it will be amazing, today is great although it does not deserve a medal because of bad qpr BUT in 5-8 years it will get a silver medal if not the gold.

  • Perfumed wild flowers, fresh berries and graphite minerals, beautiful oak. Delicious and delivering already. So Pauillac.

  • Is Le Petit Mouton the best second wine from Bordeaux today? After tasting the 2018, it is a distinct possibility. Dark in color, the nose jumps with 5 spice, currants, smoke, blackberries and light oak aromas. Silky, lush and polished with layers of sweet, ripe, fresh, round red fruits that build and linger. Disarmingly easy to taste, this has the ability to age for at least two decades. Blended using 56% Cabernet Sauvignon, 40% Merlot and 4% Cabernet Franc, reaching 14% alcohol, part of the reason the wine feels so rich that for the first time, the wine was aged in 100% new, French oak barrels, instead of closer to 50%.

  • Put your nose into a basket of freshly picked black and red berries and you'll get the idea of the perfume here. Dark in color, the perfectly ripe, sweet fruit is vibrant, juicy and polished. The wine is supple and disarmingly easy to taste but don't that let fool you, there is depth of flavor and the ability to age for at least two decades. The wine was fashioned from 56% Cabernet Sauvignon, 40% Merlot and 4% Cabernet Franc, reaching 14% alcohol. This is so good it is hard to fathom that this only a second wine. With the exception of 1982 and 1986, this is better than any vintage of Mouton produced between 1962 and 1996! 94-96 Pts

  • Geproefd op Château Mouton Rothschild op woensdag 03.04.2019.
Hele rijke neus. Gebrande koffie. Dik sap. Heel licht drogend. Mist wellicht wat fraîcheur. Wel heel sappig en vol. 95-97
