A genuine bargain. Fleshy, modern-styled bordeaux, rich, soft, some complexity, merlot to the fore, and most importantly drinking lovely at 5 years old. Even some secondary notes in the nose! Got it for $18 delivered!

Color, clear red. 1st nose, floral; 2nd nose, red fruits and alcohol. On the palate, good balance of fruits and tannins, medium to long finish. This wine is great to drink now, but can improve more for another 5 years.

Medium garnet colored with high viscosity and very slight staining (14.5% ABV). The nose has medium intensity aromas of black plum, charcoal, mint, cassis, hedgerow, blackberry pie and rose petals. The palate is dry with medium acidity and medium (+) tannins that are chalky and bristle a touch. The wine is full bodied with rich flavors of black fruit and oak coupled with some pretty florals. A nicely balanced and maturing blend of Merlot, Cab Sav and Cab Franc with a touch of old-school Malbec that makes this Right Bank blend a pleasure to drink. I am pairing it with Ox tail stew and rice with pees. It will develop further and cellar nicely till 2029. For $28 this 91 point bottle gets 5 stars from me.

This inexpensive Bordeaux is packed with an abundance of fruit. As are all young red Bordeaux wines, this is very tannic. Worth a couple more points with bottle age, this hidden gem needs time! A little simple. Addendum: On day three: Tannic cough syrup.Addendum: This must be day 10, and this wine is still drinkable , stored at 55 degrees Fahrenheit. Gone is the cough syrup character. Perhaps this should be considered for your cellar.

Coravin by the glass. Nose of black cherry, plum, currant, toasted oak and dried herbs. Ripe black cherry, currant, herbs and forest floor on the palate. Good persistence. Medium to full bodied. Served with grilled cheese, guacamole and jalapeños burgers.

Once again tasting very decent. Nearly opaque red, this has a warm, spicy, sandalwood nose. Nice dollop of uncomplicated red fruit in the mouth is not complex but plump and ripe. Bit of a distracting note on the finish is slightly woody, metallic. But for the money? Good wine, even if it didn't impress me as much this go-round. 4-11-14-7: 86/100.
Translucent ruby. On opening smelled chiefly red cherry and plum with eucalyptus and some faint earthiness, with development the eucalyptus increased in relative strength; tasted a reprise of the fruit plus vanilla and some sweet herbs. Good balance and power without being overly extracted. An hour's decant took it from slightly brash in mouthfeel to nicely rounded off. The finish is a little mentholated and a bit shorter than expected.

Make no mistake, this is one of the best (if not THE best) 2018 out there for your money. Looks, smells and tastes the part, with lovely minerally red fruit. Nice when opened last night, better today, with the tannin and structure to age nicely for a decade or so. Get this wine (and later vintages, which have been well-reviewed) before prices rise in the future. 4-12-16-8: 90/100.

80% merlot, 10% cab sauvg, 10% cab franc, +malbec Nose of mint, eucalyptus, raw lamb, red fruits touch stewed. Sexy and soft palate entry, medium weight, Ripe, dark red plum, red bush berries and powdery tannins. Well judged acidity, not complex but, clean and punching well above its price point, <$3 per pour delicious value and porch pounder.

Day 1: This is great right out of the gate which was not the case on the last bottle. Great value! Roasted Chesnuts, cherry, earth, minerals and spice. Excellent value. 92 points Day 2 and 3: Not very good. Too harsh. Day 4: Patience with wine people. This is very good with cherry, minerals, mild spice, plum and gravel. 92 points Recommendation: One of the better under $20 values out there.

Nice restrained Bordeaux with a focus on red berryfruit. Hints of earthiness and herbs. Good structure and nice acidity, with a few more years tannins will soften further and this will improve.
Great QPR!

Better on Day 2 or 3!; 6/2/2022-7/5/2022 (3 Day Wine Review World Headquarters, Minneapolis, MN): Day 2: Continues to be a great value at $13.99 with dark fruits, Chesnuts, spice, mild oak and minerals. Solid effort. Day 3: Patience pays off. This wine is singing on day 3 and one of the better values anywhere in the world for under $20. Roasted Chesnuts, perfume, blueberries, minerals, exotic spices and sour cherry. Super complex wine for the money and would do some damage in a blind Bordeaux tasting. Drink now to 2032. 93 points Recommendation: Buy and get at least a six pack but a case would be better as this will cellar for a while.
Day 1: Pop and pour. Tastes like a grocery store Bordeaux. I have been noticing more and more cheap Bordeaux and Italian wines getting 92 points from critics and then being very disappointed with some (not all). Fruit froward offering with cherry, plum and floral notes. Thin on the palate and finish. Lacks acidity. Not going to score this now and will see over 3 days if it improves (80 points currently). Day 1.25: Not surprised the wine did improve a few hours later. Roasted chestnuts, cherry, dust, spice and minerals. Certainly not in the 90s but for the price a serviceable weekday wine. Grainy (Agglomerate) Cork 88 points Day 2: Can't stress this day 2/3 thing anymore and another stellar result. This is much better on day 2. Bright fruit featuring cherry and plum along with tobacco, minerals, spice and dust. Pretty amazing wine for under $20. 91 points Day 3: Small berries, good acidity, minerals, tobacco and dust. Excellent value and should age for a while. 91 points Recommendation: Decant 3 or 4 hours if you want to consume young. Will age for 5 to 8 years no problem.
Clean. Medium intensity with aromas of cassis blackberry tar rosemary and cardamon.
Dry. Medium alcohol. Medium acidity. Medium tannins. Medium body. Medium intensity developing with flavours of cassis raspberry black tea tar and cardamon.
Medium finish. Good. Drink now and over the next five years. Nice grip and freshness. Pure and honest lacks a bit of flesh in the mid-palate. Great with duck confit.

A simple yet nicely approachable Marjosse, with notes of dark plum, red current, rose petals and green herbs. The palate was light, fresh yet with bright dark berries, crushed stones, black tea notes along with a simple and slightly spicy finish.

Tastes like a cheap wine (which it admittedly is), but more "green" and unripe flavors than delicious fruit. Not something I will look forward to drinking again, but maybe if it gets a little more bottle time...
Velvety spice (cloves, cinnamon) balanced by blackberry notes and faintist hint of earthiness from mushroomy notes. Lovely wine, especially for the price.

Medium bodied, round, forward, charming and fruity, with a nice drizzle of licorice and cocoa in the finish. The wine will be delicious to enjoy on release for all its sweet, red berry charm. You can drink this value-priced Bordeaux on release. The wine was made from blending 80% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Franc, 5% Cabernet Sauvignon and 5% Malbec. 88-90 Pts
