Aspetterei ancora qualche anno a riassaggiarlo.

  • Farven rød ikke granat eller rubin, tæt, men dog gennemsigtig. Meget blank og skinnende. Duften tydelige modne toner. Virker næsten som en gammel Bordeaux med charcuteri, syrnet mælkeprodukt og urter. Meget stald. Smagen blød, moden med bløde tanniner. Tydelig bitterhed og tørstof. Stor krop og koncentration. Meget harmonisk. Lang eftersmag. Virkelig dejlig og let drikkelig selv med 15%

  • Pleasant but forgettable

  • Decanted but of course poured a glass right away and swirled a bit. Coming on the heels of a '16 Castello Monsanto CCR, was a little tight and initially not showing quite as well. After 3 hours of slow ox, poured back into the bottle and set it aside for a couple days. Now it's strutting it's stuff. Nice on the nose, but now the mid palate is really evident and the finish loooong. Highly enjoyable.

  • When compared to my vintage 2014 TN of this wine and my general appreciation of Bibbiano vintage 2015 was certainly disappointing.

In the aromas cherry, liquorice and light oak. Medium garnet color.

On palate lacking the fresh red fruits that I would usually expect from young Chianti like this. Instead liquorice and unpleasant tannins seems to dominate.

Medium length finish lacking complexity. Disappointing and even more so because I do not see this better significantly with further aging.

  • Really very lovely. Elegant expression of Chianti with a pale ruby slightly burnished color. Nose is redolent with cedar, tobacco and smoked game. Cherry notes with a serious wall of crunchy tannins and acidity that make this bright and elegant. Could use another 2-4 years in bottle but delicious now with a 2 hour+ decant.

  • Lives up to its hype. Fantastic bottle. Beautiful Chianti. Smooth, elegant.

  • Pale garnet, tawny rim.

Nose: Dried cherries, oak chest, aged leather and tobacco leaf.

Mouth: Smooth, deep well of dried sour cherries and raspberries comes through on a frame of cedar wood, oak chest and densely packed spice notes. Flavors really lean into the spicy and boozy into the midpalate, as woodsy oak notes and bourbon whisky flavors take over. Fine grained spices keep firing long against a pencil lead and dried thyme backdrop.

Much more mellow and laid back than expected, this shows like it has twice the current amount of age on it. Tasted blind, I would have said this had 10 years already. While rich and deep, it remains easy going even with its outsized, layered midpalate. A stellar offering at the price. Drinkable now through 2035.

    95.

  • Deep dark reddish garnet in color, almost opaque. Full, forward & attractive nose of ripe fruit aromas of cherries, mulberries & plums with overtones of earthy/dusty & floral notes of roses, herbs, spices, minerals, tobacco & a hint of cedar in the background. Medium bodied with a very good concentration of well balanced & smooth textured, ripe red fruit flavors of sour cherries, mulberries & cranberries with herbs, spices, minerals & a hint of oak & vanilla. Lingering finish. Drinks quite well at present with decanting & extended airing but will continue development with additional aging.
