Bright, deep ruby in colour. The nose is intense and perfumed, with suggestions of dark raspberries, plums, griotte cherries and parma violets. Full and slightly creamy, the silky mouthfeel brings flavours of smoke, roast espresso and blackberry, with a frame of vanillin oak. Floral, vivid and aromatic. With roast lamb rump, sweetbreads, morels and salsa verde. 93+

Tasted during a visit to the estate in Beaune. This was nicely aromatic, cigar box notes and vanilla along with a ripe red cherry fruit. Fresh palate with a firm tannic structure.

The perfumed nose offers crushed red fruit and florals with a dark, brambly edge and a core of sweet liqueur. Still quite primary, light coffee, earth and spicy chocolate notes emerge, alongside a lick of vanilla. Medium to full-bodied mouthfeel, with a weight of dense, dark-tinged fruit and some grip. There's a slightly creamy finish, with a touch of blood orange. 92+

late on Thxgiving night, so no details, but do remember this being OK but not tantalizing... good acidity and felt like red fruit but foursquare... recommend waiting until 2030 to open...on this night this was something like 90-91, but I am hopeful for 92-93 with age

Dark fruited, spicy nosy that was effusive on popping. Darkly concentrated burgundy. Drinking well now; dark fruits and spice cake obscure minor floral elements. Balanced. Lacking a little crispness at the finish makes wonder whether the acidity will hold up for long term aging. Very enjoyable. Check in again in 5 years.

Tasted at the Drouhin cellar. Lots going on here with funky, red fruit note with flavours of red cherry plus bbq meat and savoury notes and spice. Very long with lots of complexity despite its relative youth.

Amazing nose with red fruit and lots of spice. Lovely primary fruit on the palate and spices and herbs on the lingering finish. Drinking very well still early.

An atypical burgundy interms of weight and profile. As noted by others very rich and ripe, new world in style. Rich red and black fruit, cherries, licorice, some spice and herbs with coaxing but over powered by the fruit. Palate is very heavy and somewhat cloying at this stage. Curious how this ages. Not a style for those looking for a traditional burgundy experience.

Deep, dark, sweet and fortunately not plodding, but it makes you think. maintains lightness if not particularly fresh with dark cherry and licorice....I’m trying to decide if I like it
Had this again since I left the last TN hanging, and what I’d say is this is more typical of Oregon than France

Intoxicating and complex nose full of spearmint, bright red fruit and spice garden in a cool mountain air. Delectably layered palate starting with red and black fruits, moving to spices and herbs and fanning out into a long, smooth and balanced finish. This is so open and beautiful at the moment, but very primary and showing the goods to age quite well.

NR as this was way too young, and actually felt a little shut down (or at least I hope so)... mostly structure and less body showing, nice acidity and lively in that respect, just muted flavor

Very young and coltish in the sense that all of its impressive constituent aspects are currently splayed in all directions like the legs of a very young horse (ok, foal-ish?) but this has the markings of greatness. Surprisingly more reticent nose than palate right now, something that I am sure will straighten out in time. Nose of black cherry, a little kola nut, chocolate?, along with a surprising stalkiness. Muted stoniness. After about an hour of air the tannins really start showing up. Right now, they are a little forbidding but I am absolutely sure they will resolve very nicely in time. Palate has a powerful punch of dark berry, exotic spice (cardamom, allspice) and maybe some orange zest. This shows all the signs of being awesome in about 10-15 years. It is a delightful young wine now, but if I had to guess it tastes like it is going to shut down fairly soon. A terrific CdM with all of the good aspects of Beaune and none of the dry excesses. Like a Beaune crossed with a Vosne Romanee. Score : 94+. Relative to expectations:++

if you dont like this wine then there is nothing laurent can do for you. Highest density planted in burgundy and he notes perfectly situated. 1990 organic. 20% new oak. Licorice and white pepper and spice and he thinks its an amazing vintage for this wine. This apparently a great representation of the vineyard. And it is indeed quite fine.

Burgundy & Oregon with TCWC (Chicago, IL): Certainly too young, the nose here shows a touch of oak and some lactones, which are also quite prominent on the palate. This is quite difficult to evaluate in light of its youth, but there is a pronounced ripeness (par for the course, given the vintage). Lots of sweet black cherry and some coffee, but also a backwards, tannic backbone that keeps this from becoming oozy. Not particularly worthwhile to drink now, but this has the fruit and structure to go the distance.

Elegant nose, elegant mouthfeel, elegant if somewhat candied finish. Dusty raspberry and cherry. Some spice. Really nice.

Great wine.
Rich dark fruits, fresh crushed raspberries in the middle amongst the darker and richer flavors. Nice tannins.
Very balanced wine.

A Few Miscellaneous Wines in Burgundy, Outside of Big Meals and Tastings; 6/21/2022-6/27/2022 (Burgundy): Popped-and-poured by Joe D then enjoyed over an hour+. Fleshy, ripe black fruits with lots of tannin and power, yet accessible enough to easily enjoy already. But certainly better from 2030 forward.
