Extraordinarily funky. For a moment i thought it was a natural wine with something strange growing in it. I hope it was a defective bottle since I have another in the cellar.

A little bit more animalistic, bretty, this time. Maybe not quite as good as previous bottle because not quite as clean, but still eminently drinkable, engaging wine. More focus on the syrah this time time, more black olives, blackberries and meat. If there was ever a perfect Bistrot wine this would be in for a shout of being that.

Lots of personality. Plums, blackberry, iron, blood, earth, herbs. Tannins got some grip but juicy and of good quality. Animalistic and earthy aftertaste. Really good now in a direct and forward way but more elegance and depth to come.

Raspberry and stewed plums on the noae, natural, authentic, flavors of beef jerky, raspberry, blackberry, spice and earth, deep, juicy, lengthy finish, distinct, tannic, drinks well now but lots of stuffing for aging in the cellar

Wow! Not that experienced in Barral but this vintage is superb. So fresh and floral while meaty and fruity (blackberry and black cherry), with a nice salty licorice ending. None of the brett that I thought was a given with Barral.

Pretty much consistent with previous note but a notch up in terms of funkiness. Really dirty and animalistic.

Plums and dark cherries fill the palate. The tannins were present, but not overpowering.
Its drinking very well upon opening, and it was a satisfying end to the night.

Loved this - deep and earthy and stewed plummy fruit. Great with cheese or a good book.

Rich, delicous full-bodied blackberry fruit with loads of black pepper, herbal, and earthy flavors, excellent structure, long finish, rustic wine
