Two hour decant. Very very deep magenta color. Prailine, black cherry, meringue, sesame seeds, and subtle leather and peanut oil. Smooth, dry palate. Firm, full tannins on the longish finish.
This is still drinking well, but it’s not as good as it was last year (for me). It’s gotten more savory.

This was considerably better than the last time I tasted it approximately 1 year ago. Maybe it was the longer decant? Maybe it was an additional year of age? Maybe it was the food it was paired with (brisket burgers)? I’m not sure, but I enjoyed this wine especially the complex Bordeaux like flavor profile. It is not your typical boring extracted fruit, creme de cassis, high alcohol fruit bomb. It has some nice layers if you slow down long enough to peel them back.

Black currants, fresh black plums, chocolate, and shiny of bell pepper. Very full bodied and good balance of acidity and oak. Not overly extracted or overly packed and a bit more balanced than many CA cabs these days. Fantastic PQR.

Two hour double decant. Very deep hazy magenta color. Black cherry, muscadine, sage, cinnamon, orange rind, black currant jam, and subtle chocolate malt balls and honeycomb on the rich, complex nose. Very smooth, tongue drying palate, with satiny acidity. Full tannins on the longish finish.
I cannot get over how good this is and it’s less than $50. My score has a modest bonus built in (one point) for being such an excellent QPR. It’s a solid 95 pointer in a blind tasting.
Quick double decant, using an aerating funnel in both directions. Very deep magenta color. Apple strudel, blackberry, and subtle molasses on the rich nose. Smooth, dry palate, with good acidity and a nice Gala apple note. Firm tannins on the long finish.
This is my first bottle from Crocker & Starr and I’m definitely impressed. Drinks way above its price point. May have added a bonus point for value, but this is straight up good.
A new world wine that was built in an old world style. Reminds me a bit of BV Tapestry, which has a rustic frame. A good weekday wine to pair with a hearty meal. Would go well with a cheeseburger or BBQ. Good, but not great.

Not sure how to describe other than it seemed slightly sweet and not nearly as big as my normal cab preference. It was ok but non-descript is best way for me to leave it. Simple wine that may appeal to newer red wine drinkers. Three hour decant in bottle

This continues to get better with age. Similar to my tasting note from May 2022. Very good new world Cali Cab. blend.

Really well balanced with velvety tannins. Ripe boysenberry and blueberry, hints of oak and tobacco leaf. Really great Bordeaux style blend
