A great Riesling from Leitz, perfect acidity for glass noodles with Asian shrimp salad, lime, fish sauce, sambal oelek, ginger. Will hold for at least 5 more years.

Nice wine dinner where all the wines were very good, all are basically in their drinking windows. Numanthia 2013 needed about 1 - 2 hours before it felt fully integrated, very nice Tempranillo from D.O Toro. Phil Lane 2014 from K Vintners was right in the window the best wine of the evening along with Leitz. What a Syrah, ripe notes with lovely blackberries and some meaty notes, green olives. Leitz Berg Kaisersteinfels Riesling GG 2017 was the evening's winner together with Phil Lane, what razor-sharp acidity and wonderful fruit, will be even better with a few more years on the neck. The disappointment of the evening was By Farr Tout Pres 2015, have been drinking many By Farr, a favorite from Geelong in Victoria, Australia. But the normally fine minerality was not there (typical limestone), felt a bit tired (bottle variety!?).

Golden yellow, serious and complex Riesling trocken from Weingut Leitz. The Rüdesheimer Berg Kaisersteinfels vintage 2017 has a long life ahead but is really good now already with some matching food.

Baked pork fillet marinated in Leitz Riesling along with lots of lime, mango and other nice stuff. The wine was a hit to this and a fresh salad on sun-dried tomatoes and feta cheese olives 👊

Beautiful at such a young age. Bursting with sweet herbal aromas and lime, grapefruit. Beautiful chalky texture indicating long ageing potential. No hard edges though, very inviting and rounded.

A very refreshing wine that has good fruit but toned down (no pear flavored popsicles) with mix of apples, some citrus. Slim fit (may fill out with time) and narrow and with a clearly dry profile, food friendly. Softer palate and less acidity than previous vintages of this wine that I have tried.
I really liked this as a wine that is what it is and does it really well right now, but I don't think this is one for the ages.

This has now fleshed out a bit and added some nice complexity. Drinking nicely right now.

Vietnamese noodle salad with shrimp, hints of soy, mango, honey, fish sauce. This Riesling from Leitz was perfect to this food 👌
