Cassis, blackberry, nicely soft tannins although some power left! Nice tobacco, chocolate and leathery notes. 7/10 concentration and pretty good finish. Can still go for a few years. Actually superb for the price!

Records not handy. Likely bought at least 6b for less than 15/b during Binny's closeout of Sam's inventory about 13 years ago; I think this is #3 or 4. Decanted with normal sediment for its age. Purple; fragrant blackcurrant nose, some plum, that follow on the palate, bit of complexity, good acidity, good mouthfeel; bit of persistence. Delicious, excellent example of lovely everyday Bdx (great vintage helps). Glad to have more, should hold for several more years. Stored horizontally in a cool, dark basement since purchase. My evaluation: For me, scores on a "100-point scale" are misleading. I use a 4-category scale (perhaps with +/-)--not including flawed--which runs outstanding/notable/drinkable/poor. This is notable+ when considering quality, age, and price.

Still quite primary - the tannins are resolving themselves but this is developing very slowly. I wouldn't revisit for at least another five years. Excellent potential.

after opening the acidity and the bitterness were enhanged in a fierce fight, so not the best drinking experience, on the second day the bitterness was gone, leaving fresh and fruity acids, reminding me more of Tuscan wine than a classical Bordeaux, but I like it, still one bottle to go, I will take the risk of an additial 5 years of cellaring, curious about the result

still rather young, tannins are still quite strong and there's a rather sharp but not unpleasant acidity, there is absolutely no hurry to drink this, I think that this will age beautifully

An earth grass and plum aroma. Very smooth taste from start to finish. No acidic burn. No tannic burn. Long lasting flavor. Just a slight bitterness. Very nice wine.

Excellent.

Rather drinkable and not as tannic as some others. Still some off flavors and lack of any typical herbal character flaws this wine. Good, but not great.

Solid pessac, easily drinkable right now. Nose was very smokey and earthy, with light cherries. Palate had both red and black fruit, spice, hints of mocha. Dusty good finish.

- Crimsom color with medium forming legs and aromas of licorice anise, smokey and blackberry and has flavours of dusty, licorice anise, smokey and blackberry with a light/medium body. Polished texture with a long finish.

Somewhat tight on aromas with only a little dark cherry and old leather. Old world flavor and style on the medium body. Subtle dark cherry, a little toasted cedar. Dry finish. Needs food to get through the dry tannins.

Wow. What a bargain. I wish I could buy more of this at the original price. This is fantastic stuff - open nose of fresh berries with truffles, a little smoky, great medium-bodied mouthfeel with really subtle tannins - I think this will just get better and better. If the rest of 2005 turns out like this, I'll be a happy camper.

is leaving its closed phase, but no hurry to drink this, is a typical Pessac approaching the level of quality offered by the less attractive GCC of the region, very good P/Q-ratio

Beautiful bouquet of violets, stone, and raspberries. Very drinkable '05 as tannins have receded nicely. Typical pessac that is gently polished, with nice red fruit, cassis, smoke, and a well integrated structure. Good acidity is evident through with an elegant, silky finish. Very pure fruit. A top value 2005.

2 hr decant. Color: dark red purple. Smell: cocoa, vanilla, dark roast coffee, cherry, roast red bell, spice. Taste: somewhat dark and ashen, plum, field green, pepper, some structure, bitter tannins, espresso, very dark chocolate. Finish is of good length, nutty, smooth after the initial bitterness fades, mouth is left very dry. Looks like great future potential. Bought on GV's recommendation, not disappointed.

Nice nose of plum and black fruits with graphite. Intense. On tasting a nice amount of fruit, but a bit hollow . The nose promised more than it delivered. Nevertheless a nice enjoyable everyday drinker.
