not blind If you want to witness the whole greatness and complexity of aged champagne then you need a second or third generation of old grande cuvees. Sublime. Fresh. Multi dimensional. 99

From Demi - condition of the bottle entirely perfect, looked like freshly printed label. The wine was surprisingly fresh for the age and format. Of course the good oxidative style goodies of fino, plenty of nuttiness, coffee bean, smoke, nougat. Long long finish with a nice lift. Fantastic with cheese and on its own. Wow and then some. Long live Krug.

80s white label, PnP. The nose is all one wants from aged Champagne, superb creamy notes, delicate autumn fruit, elegant nutty profile. On the palate is a core of striking freshness, crazy vibrant acidity that does not fade despite all the aged flavours. Can age longer. 94-95+

Absolutely singing. No code on the cork so presumably an early release. Nice balance of acid, dried fruit, all sorts of developed caramel-y stuff, and a tiny trace of oxidative notes. Soft spritz. Really impressive power and complexity.

Krug Lover Dinner with Olivier Krug (Daniel Dal Ban 1876 (Tafelspitz) Düsseldorf): not blind
We had it before from Magnum. But even the regular bottle is a monster of multi-layerness. A complete kaleidoscope of aromas and freshness likewise. 98
