Three plus years on from my last note and one point less. Nonetheless this is a wonderfully well preserved bottle from a fantastic vintage.............

This is incredible for its age and being a village wine. Cork was in perfect condition so I suspect this has been recently re-corked. Fully mature appearance; the lightest of orange tints but no browning. It's still fresh on the palate - has a distinctly citrussy edge to it and still some soft cherry fruit. You can tell it's mature but it's not past it despite its age. A rare treat.

The burgundy bug hasn’t bitten me yet. I was amazed by the nose this still had given its age. The preceding notes all sum it up very well and I agree with the scores.

The nose was rather delicate, for a 42 year old #pinotnoir, some herbs, forest floor, cherries and plums. The palate still had some freshness and some fruit. It had a complex delicate finish, of sour cherries, a hint of sweetness, a little herbs and it had a bit of weight. Very interesting wine for my birthday and at £55 for the age wonderful drop @laywheeler although I think they're all gone 91 points

I have never had a burgundy anything like this old before so opened just before drinking in case it was fragile. At first some fruit but mainly tertiary and rather short. Tasted alongside a 2015 Savigny and definitely still had recognisable taste. Vacuvined overnight. On day 2 had filled out considerably with real fruit and at least doubled in length and body. Still very much alive. I will open my other bottle a few hours before drinking. A fascinating bottle at a sensible price.

Amazing this feels so young, still can smell some mature strawberries on the nose. Has life in it. Very good for a village wine, in great form

I agree with the last two notes. In tremendous condition for its age. Not complex, but gentle pleasing and with some length.
