Last year’s release and still fresh as can be. Pale salmon pink in the glass. The first swirl brought a generous waft of peaches ‘n’ cream, an orange on a sunny window sill, fresh green herbs and summer rain. The palate offers similar flavors but the citrus note is more like ruby red grapefruit. There is some lively acidity, the texture is slightly creamy and there is a hint of tannin along the gums.

Rose gold - faintly tinted, faint aromas. Bright red strawberry and ruby grapefruit. Gathers some texture as it warms and leaves a lingering Jolly Rancher watermelon farewell.

Return of the (outdoor) dining: Pure Grenache rose and I am a fan of those. Pours very light. Very similar in style to Provence ones which perhaps are over popular but which I still find myself liking quite a bit. This was drinking well if a bit easy.

I really want to like this (and all) Matthiasson wines. Unfortunately this just doesn’t come together for me. Decent melon character on the nose, but the palate is all over the place and the wine feels forced.

This was the perfect wine for a simple summer supper on the deck. Light red fruit, citrus and brisk acidity, it matched the light chill of the breeze, and played well with the Thai-style grilled chicken and roasted veggies. Fun, dry and refreshing.

Pale salmon colored, reminds me of a Billecart Rose. Wonderfully balanced wine. Citrus rind, lime zest, wild strawberry, petrol, minerals. The acidity and tannins are where they need to be on this wine to provide a nice lingering finish, as far as rose is concerned. The Season is early, but this is the best rose I’ve had at this price point over the last year. Can’t really think of anything negative to say. Really nicely done.

Outstanding. As far as still rosé goes, I have yet to find a still rosé as tasty as this. Toyed with 98. Scents include light strawberry and citrus. Flavour wise? An absolute juice bomb, but classy. It’s uber satisfying. It has great, and not overboard acidity like many Provençal rosés can have. But it’s also not just fruit pudding like some new world examples. It’s just hitting all the right notes. Think strawberries, watermelon and the most gentle cherry note. Everything is in literal perfect harmony. One aspect doesn’t overpower the other. It’s fruity, but juicy, refreshing and crisp but also clean and elegant. I’ve had the famous Garrus and Ott and while those have sublime aromatics, they lack in flavour/tasty-ness. This one, is an absolute steal at this price and is downright delicious. Highly recommend. If anyone thinks there is a more balanced and refreshing rosé, please throw those recs my way, because I honestly want to be convinced a more perfect rosé out there exists.

Really pale salmon color. Vibrant citrus aromas on the nose with lime, orange, some fresh cut flowers and wild strawberry. Similar flavors on the palate with bright, juicy fruit but really quite crisp and delicate overall. Refreshing and light but with good flavor. Excellent rose.

This is a beautifully rosy pale, luscious rosé that embodies all that is light, airy, and satisfying about a summer’s eve.

Apples, lime zest, sweet acacia, pollen, sea air on the nose. Delicate balance of honey, tangerine, tart lime, a crisp bitter lift at the back.
